I see where you are going with this, but honestly 5 mags is a bit light. That is the minimal loadout for an infantryman or a quick raid. Being stuck behind enemy lines without coms, straight off I could ditch squad radio and command radio and free up weight and room for 3-4 more mags and still be raid light.

Toss the support gunner ammo that I would normally have to carry, add five mags and still have come down half in weight... ect.

Ammo in this game is something I'm really torn on. Fighting near peer enemies using NATO weapons while also being a unit that uses NATO weapons I just dont see ammo being a scarcity, and me, I'd be picking it up constantly.

Agreed, in addition for those of us really into working our character, I can haul around a big pack and lower my stamina rating to reflect me hauling more weight and if I really want to get into it I can change my pack simulating dropping off my load and up my stamina again before hitting a base. Yeah it is all smoke and mirrors, but the flexibility they added really allows me to push the limits without imposing any limits on anyone else. A nice toggle for accessing weapons outside of bivouac would allow Chris to do his thing and allow others to continue with their mode. Options to tailor your experience are nice.

I would be supportive of various activities like crafting, load out changes, item wheel changes, and Fast travel not being available while engaged. I think that’s a fair compromise. But confining these kinds of things to Bivoacs is just too limiting.

I also think this should be the first and last GR game with crafting. We should never have our operators in a situation where the need to craft, ever again.

It is a lot easier if you just think of it as Far Cry Breakpoint.

for you, crafting while in combat breaks immersion,
for me, the 80,000,000 ppl who get into a helo and just sit on the trigger of the m134 miniguns does it for me

unfortunately, i cant control them, but you can simply abstain from crafting....

This is such a stupid oversight on UBIs part that I cant believe it.
With the new update we can craft anywhere, but what's the point in limiting bandage numbers in the immersive experience and having 4-6 syringes as a limitation if you can carry enough plants to start a rain forest any time you want and being able to craft 100 syringes and 50 bandages even during combat in the middle of an enemy base?!

it's like people in Ubi's offices work in two teams that dont communicate - one is playing the game and the other is changing the features.

To solve this I see multiple options:
1) Limit crafting to Bivouacs only (as a toggle option in the immersive mode).
2) place a limit on the number of plants you can carry - say 5 of each kind, to create the sort of limitations like in the consumable inventory.
3) provide an option where even in SP the Map and Inventory menus dont pause the game. At list there will be some risk in changing stuff in menus during combat.

I dont know about you all, but im constantly enough materials to build a nuke and a farm. kinda ruins the experience.

Yeah, I do gotta say, it does feel goofy that we still get access to everything we own on the fly. Sooo, its 'realistic' mode, but im walking around with 6 Mk1 and 4 Mk2 syringes, 4 Mk1, 2 and 3 Landmines, 4 Mk1, 2 and 3 EMP grenades, 7 Mk1 and 5 MK2 Frag grenades, 3 bandages, a rocket launcher with like 5 rounds, 1000 rounds o 7.62 and 2 guns, a pistol with 200 rounds and an entire buffet of assorted crafted goodies......

I would love if we only had everything in Erewhon, and we had only a small amount of supplies out in the wild....or something....fewer item slots, maybe 3 instead of 6....then we pick what we wanna bring in the Biv and thats all we get.

Like, you decide to bring the Bandages, Syringes and Frags+Class Item. Or, C4, Mines and Syringes+Class Item.

Helmets maybe but body armor has come a long way. ESAPI plated only weigh about a kg each these days. Gone are the days when you have a 20kg vest just to offer minimal protection.

Radios weigh more than ballistic plates these days. I mean sure if you want to be essentially bullet proof like one of the heavies you are still going to be wearing 50kg+ of armor, but aside from that armor has gotten really light.

Bigger issue is other gear. Grenades ect... we shouldn't be able to carry anywhere near as much as we currently do. It made more sense in GRW as I could write it off to squad gear. 8 frags... sure 2 per squad member. Now, it is Nomad the man of steel.

10kg = ~22lbs, thats insane!!! even my breach gear only weighs a total of 22lbs..and that includes the sleeves, collar and groin flap! thats plate, trauma pads, and full kit

LEO SOF here, is pretty much on the same standard as military SOF because (police is the army reserve here) and kits are pretty much 10 to 20kg (the last being the kit to the person carrying the huge *** chain cutters)

Are not trained like a normal Special intervention unit for the LEO in the US.
During COESP (CURSO DE OPERAÇÕES ESPECIAIS - SPECIAL OPERATIONS COURSE)
Our LEO SOF Candidates learn to:
Static line jump
Free fall jump (halo and haho)
Land navigation
Small unit tactics
CQB and hostage rescue
Combat diving
Airborne operations (helo insertions and extractions)
Small boats operations
Riverine operations
Urban warfare
Jungle warfare
Mountain warfare (in states that have mountains)
SERE
They are just like any other commando unit but they work for the police.
The normal police officer is an infantry soldier and everyone is trained as a rifleman (even tho not all carry rifles)

Is it weird to anyone else we can carry everything we need and craft whatever we want in the field at any time, yet if we decide we'd rather use a different set of the skills we apparently already know to fulfill a different role in the field, we have to either make for a pre-designated camping site or head back to the kumbayah circle back at the cave tiki-bar hideout to suddenly remember "Oh wait, I'm really good with a sniper rifle!" while inexplicably somehow forgetting just how stealthy we actually are.

Anyways, on topic; I'm all for whatever limitations and handicaps you guys want to impose as long as it's optional. This game is so far removed from reality, I've accepted it and let it go, trying to find fun where I can with it. The last thing I need is ideas limiting my roleplaying as a super-soldier that doesn't have to run back to a campfire every time I need something because some of you want to appease your inner masochist. Make whatever it is optional or show restraint and impose the limitations on yourselves...don't drag me into your desire to suffer, please.

Totally get that. Our body armour is still pretty low tech stuff, so it’s fairly heavy, but like you say, it makes no sense at all that we can carry frags, flashbangs, mines C4, rockets, the launcher, then strap on an LMG and a .50 cal sniper rifle.

This is the WORST idea ever...

They had it in Farcry 5, and i hated it.

Please dont do this.
