Clean out the base - side mission got a whole lot worse

Okay, so we complained that it was too easy. That there were only a handful of enemies in any base.
I'd already seen one mission where I had to wait until all 8 (!) radio operators were in different places where I could silently kill them, but today's "Clean out the base" side mission went into the unplayable difficulty.

In the 25 minutes I played this, not only did 3 Azrael drones pass over me and 7 helicopters, forcing me to stop recon and dropping my chin in the ground every time. No, they've upped the ante on what walks around in the base.

    1x officer
    1x heavy
    4x radio operator
    4x rifleman
    8x breachers
    8x snipers on 2 towers
and 6x AYM drones which with their new armor take about 20 unsilenced level 250 sniper rifle bullets each to get killed.

And that aside from the plenty of patrols and blockades that stroll around the forest as well, that are attracted to your gunshots. No need to kill them all first, because they will randomly respawn anyway.

I managed to kill 3 AYMs and was fighting a 4th one 270m away when I was one shot killed by I don't even know what. Unless the snipers on the other tower (480m away) managed to zoom in. But this is just unplayable, solo. Maybe even unplayable with co-op.

I don't mind a dirty long fight, like that even. But can we please go back to the situation before where when I am clearly in a fight, with enemies over there orange or red, that the damn helicopters and drones stay away? Or otherwise give me the option to launch my recon drone from camo position.

Edit: and then on the reload, there's just two riflemen in the base.

I'm not playing the Faction Missions at the moment, as there are no rewards for doing so, but...DAMN!! That sounds like a challenge I'll enjoy.

If you're having trouble, here's some advice...

    - Clear the perimeter first
    - Prioritise your targets
    - Do not engage the drones until absolutely necessary
    - Stick to cover as much as possible
    - Use your equipment to your advantage
    - The enemies won't enter the alerted state (red & yellow), if they don't witness a kill (be aware, drones can witness kills)
    - If enemies find a dead body and become suspicious (yellow), use that time to your advantage and pick off the enemies that separate from the others, but don't engage the drones during this time
    - Fall back as much as you need to, in order to avoid being spotted when moving to a new location
    - Stay on the move and aware of enemy movements

If you keep these things in mind when infiltrating a base, you'll have a much better time of it. Good luck.

Yes, but these days enemies respawn. You run a little this way and where you have cleared enemies, they respawn. Just on the reload, I ran towards the base as I saw there was now just 1 rifleman (although he had a buddy I found) and while doing recon with my drone, I flew back to where I spawned only to find a car with two enemies had spawned there. After I left.

    Prioritise your targets
That's difficult with 4 snipers per tower. Kill one, whole base goes in alarm.
    And then
Do not engage the drones until absolutely necessary
This becomes absolutely necessary. Stupid thing is, you have to kill them to clear the base.

Stick to cover as much as possible
Yes, although this base in Fen Bog is mostly surrounded by water. Which makes for a slow getaway in case of emergency.
But I am using the rocks as cover. Killed a patrol and one AYM using that.
    This ain't my first rodeo.

Use your equipment to your advantage
    All good.

The enemies won't enter the alerted state (red & yellow), if they don't witness a kill (be aware, drones can witness kills)
Yup, but I sniped a guy outside the base and a buddy of his who had walked away to the corner still heard my silenced gunshot and came running. How you hear anything above the cacophony of 6 AYMs I wonder.

If enemies find a dead body and become suspicious (yellow), use that time to your advantage and pick off the enemies that separate from the others, but don't engage the drones during this time
Done that. While the base was in alarm as well, as even then some breachers run out and think they can hide behind trees.

Fall back as much as you need to, in order to avoid being spotted when moving to a new location
Oh yes, and run into more patrols, and duck from the Azraels and heli's zooming past.

Stay on the move and aware of enemy movements
Thanks, done all that. Still haven't a clue what killed me. That's why I like the kill cam in some games.

But it wasn't infiltrating the base, it was clear out the base. Kill everything in it.
I'm one of those guys who goes into the Wolf bases with a pistol and kills everyone that way, just to sharpen my wit. And level 250, so I have been doing this for a while.
    Just not against 6 AYMs.

4 snipers in one tower? Surely you're exaggerating, right?

If not, I'm really eager to try this Faction Mission myself.

Oh my god!! You're not exaggerating!! This is awesome!! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Ok. Keep in mind the advice I posted and take your time. Also, don't forget you can craft items in the field, not just at bivouacs, so craft your heart out.

LOL, a fun one today. The factory that usually houses just 2 to 4 guys, now had so many more that they were just all waiting in a cantina on one side and in the parking lot on the other side of the compound.

    Tweedledum for 8 of them
    And Tweedledee for 6 more

Key is to take out the radio guys first.
