I find it curious that you should post this here you are either stupid or you feel guilty for what you did there are obviously a myriad of other reasons but when you were exploiting the game and breaching the rules, that we are supposed to follow when using this service. Was there apart of you that said to yourself I shouldn't do this this is wrong ?
And the excuse it effects noone doesn't hold bud because of your actions the Devs have had to prioritize fixing it instead of other things so the game suffered and yes others were doing it as well but that won't work either wrong is wrong just because alot of weak minded individuals couldn't resist doesn't make it right.
I must be stupid then because I don't feel guilty. Growing up we had game genie, gameshark, codes/cheats/exploits in cheat magazines, and later on websites. I DON'T believe it to be wrong in the casual sense because these things have always existed and were always ok. I DO believe it to be wrong when used against other players, making leader boards, or earning money from it. Like the one guy who made money from cheating on Donkey Kong.
Okay. So your exploiting _did_ affect others as well, though not negatively. Did you discuss this with them beforehand? If yes, and if they agreed to benefit from the exploits, then that's on them. If not, then ... well. If I were playing with a friend who made things easier for the group by secretly using exploits, then I'd definitely be angry at that person. They practically voided our accomplishment as a group by using illegitimate means to get them.Originally Posted by ernestcgurule Go to original post
That's just lip service. Here's a suggestion: How about destroying that loot? No? Why not? You said yourself that you are capable to get legitimately, it would just take more time.Originally Posted by ernestcgurule Go to original post
The fact that you _do_ keep that loot, makes it pretty clear that you _do_ deserve any repercussions of the actions that you used to obtain it.
That's the age-old "I did (insert minor criminal offense here), but it's fine, I didn't kill someone" defense. It has never worked, nor should it. If you want to abuse exploits in games, then don't play a game with a license that explicitly forbids that in its license. It's as easy as that.Originally Posted by ernestcgurule Go to original post
You're correct that there are much more serious things than abusing exploits in a game, because it's just a game. But that doesn't make it okay. It only means that the appropriate form of punishment should also not be the most serious we have available (you won't get imprisoned for doing it), but something like a ban. Which is a very minor form of punishment because - it's just a game, right? Not much lost if you aren't able to play it any more.
And that's the "We have always done it this way, and I grew up in a community where everyone was a thief, so don't criticize me for stealing stuff" defense. Which also never worked. Because if you're a grown-up, then our society kind of assumes that you're able to tell right from wrong regardless of your past. Besides, you have conveniently forgotten to mention that most of the games we played back then did not explicitly forbid this practice in their licenses, while Division 2 clearly does.Originally Posted by ernestcgurule Go to original post
You keep digging your hole deeper and deeper.
You might get banned, but you probably won’t. You might get your account rolled back, but you probably won’t. So I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
But go sell this crap somewhere else. I don’t care what your justification is. People do stupid sh!t everyday and come up with rationalizations to justify it. Some end up paying the consequences some don’t. Life is like that.
They said that Legendary was really for the top tier players. The fact that you felt the need to cheat to complete the Legendary missions shows that was it was just too much of a blow to your ego that you couldn’t do it.
If I were in Massive’s shoes what would be really telling to me is that you point blank admitted that you would have used the other cheat had it not been patched first, so you would probably do it again if given the opportunity. It also makes me skeptical that you’ve never used a cheat before or haven’t used any of the advantages you’ve gleaned against others in PvP. I guess we just take your word on that.
Anyway, as I said, go sell that bullsh!t somewhere else, we’re full up here.
TL;DR—Piss off.
He just had a good and fun gameplay using the glitch. The trash gear he got anyway was an additional bonus but nothing better from farming the regular way so no extra gains were made. Couldn't argue with this man. He made a more sensible honest post than the last 30 or so topics filled with crybabies whining about it!

Well done Sir/Ma’am, well done!
