If you're having trouble, here's some advice I posted in another thread. I follow these guidelines as best I can and I consistently take down bases without breaking stealth.
- Clear the perimeter first
- Prioritise your targets
- Do not engage the drones until absolutely necessary
- Stick to cover as much as possible
- Use your equipment to your advantage
- Enemies won't enter the alerted state (red & yellow), if they don't witness a kill (be aware, drones can witness kills)
- If enemies find a dead body and become suspicious (yellow), use that time to your advantage and pick off the enemies that separate from the others, but don't engage the drones during this time
- Fall back as much as you need to, in order to avoid being spotted when moving to a new location
- Stay on the move and aware of enemy movements
If you keep these things in mind when infiltrating a base, you'll have a much better time of it. Good luck.
Personally I do not feel the drones add difficulty, they are more annoying and seem to be compensating to tuned down human NPC AI. As Breakpoint is leaning more toward a stealth brand, than any of the previous titles, the enemy AI should be slanted much more in terms of intelligent defensive tactics and searching protocols (though it is much improved from launch).
Set the drones to perimeters and camera alert only, to basically make them a non-issue and if you hit them with a suppressed weapon out of enemy view, they are one-shotted to the ground. Balance this with smarter human NPC AI, that reacts to red when a dead body is discovered and adopt a défensive posture, along with an organized search party supported with suppressive fire, including turrets and artillery.
In the hardest difficulties, the player should be forces to plan infiltration by softening the perimeter with targets of opportunity to clear a lane in, then move the bodies out of sight. Then in breach, take out targets strategically to achieve your objective undetected, including moving bodies.
For the heck of it I reinstalled MGSV this weekend, as it had been so long since I played it and wondered what differences there are. I would not go back to it from Breakpoint as it is now, but the one thing this game has over GRB is enemy AI intelligence. How they patrol and response to threats, as the soviets are much more observant (particularly snipers) and react to you much more tactically (though it is still far from perfect).
The other thing MGSV has is the wear on suppressors that adds to the challenge. Your suppressors have a definitive life and once used you are operating loud. This really adds to the challenge of stealth and forces the player into more CQC and sidearm take downs!
Like in MGSV, it would be cool to have a much smarter and more lethal enemy, but for the player to have more tools to evade them, such as a hacked radio net to listen to their chatter. This would be a huge advantage for the player in a one vs a base scenario.
when you have the option to play with Gearscore/without Gearscore, with stamina/without stamina, with ammo lose/without ammo lose...then you can have the option to play with drones/without drones. I am fine with the drones...this stupid robots make fun, but yeah...PLEASE GIVE THE OPTION TO DISABLE THE DRONES
end of the discussion I think
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. If you're serious...how are you stealthily killing drones? Afaik, they can't be one-shotted.Originally Posted by rmjdesigns Go to original post
But to the OP, yes I agree 100%. Drones kill immersion for me. I want to be stealthy and be a "Ghost". I don't want to have to open-up on a bullet spongy robot.
