IUbisoft has pretty much ruined For Honor by removing all the spots that someone can get thrown from a ledge. I really liked the high risk high reward that was in the game before the maps where reworked and most ledge points removed along with the fire pits. If people complain about getting thrown from a ledge or thrown into the fire pits, then they need to practice more and get better so they do not get thrown off, or they are the one who is doing the throwing.
Please fix the maps back and stop all the reworking of maps that where fun to play.
There's always going to be people who are not happy with either of these options. If someone's not happy with ledge opportunities it is usually because certain heroes have more advantages in these areas (Raider, Warlord to mention a few) and it feels unfair that for a single mistake these heroes can punish you with a guaranteed kill. The other side (like you) is complaining because ledges require you to pay attention to your surroundings, adding a bit more tactical depth. Also, I wouldn't say it's "high risk high reward", because it's more like "high risk" for you to dodge near a ledge and "high reward" for your opponent to catch you with a guardbreak at the right moment and vice versa (= not necessarily high risk and high reward at the same time in my reading).
I can understand both sides, but I think it's hard to ignore that for example High Fort's zone C (Giant statue) is frequently being camped with Raiders and Warlords for the sole reason that they can place traps (that in previous patches could be put down so they were hidden below ground) and you're already dead if you walk into them (not to talk about the difficulty of dodging their charges on the narrow bridges). If you're daring enough, you'll go there (and maybe get ledged), if not, you'll be fighting for at most on 2 out of 3 zones. If your entire team is like you, zone C will be a constant +2 points for the enemy team and it can be held with one or two heroes, mostly by ledging opponents.
I'm all for tactical stuff, but I think instant kill punishes are a bit too harsh (not to talk about the 12 seconds respawn time + the time to reach a zone to be able to fight for it, that's about 30 seconds being out of match depending on the hero you play), because we all make mistakes, but it can certainly be enraging when the only reason of your death was dodging at the wrong moment (or not seeing that Warlord running at you from behind). That's just high risk, limiting your possible moves and if you read your opponent wrong, you're dead. This could be why they are reducing (and not completely removing) certain ledge opportunities. I think that's kind of a middle ground between the two extremeties. Also, while you consider it "fun" to ledge someone for the 4th time on the Temple Garden bridges, others might not feel the same way (because not everyone wants to play Raider/Warlord/Lawbro to start charging at people, and failing to dodge or getting caught because the opponent is lagging is not fun). Sure, you can tell them to "learn to play", but that's not going to help anyone feel better about their session, and definitely won't help keeping a friendlier manner in the (already quite toxic) community. That's just my opinion though, you still have ledge opportunities but I think it's better to not have too many making it more difficult to ledge a person, but requiring you to position yourself and your opponent so that you can ledge them.
Lol, nah this is a simple case of player base *****ing and getting the overall difficulty and skill of the game nerfed. On top of deleting most of the ledge opportunities, they have deleted your ability to zone enemies around structures making it more impossible to handle groups of players. All because someone *****ed that they got caught up chasing an assassin around a pillar like an idiot instead of realizing they were being baited.
This playerbase never ceases to amaze with it's stupidity.

The pillar thing is kinda reasonable because if done right you can pretty much stall the fight completely by just going around this thing and in combo with the weapon bounce feature, well yeah.
I think capture points should be rather clean spaces with only one small ledge spot at most.
The leaves are meh, it happens. They still exist, so it's not too bad.
The pillars after a huge thing. And kiting to stall a fight only works 1v1, and even then only if the hero being kited has a: no Chase tools, and b: is easily baited.
It's seriously not that big a deal. I can think of far worse things that plague this game, this is one prime example of how players that are stupid get things needlessly changed that will negatively impact the game.
