Polarity Switch event is a bit too punishing

I like the idea of killing only marked enemies. That is great. However, getting shocked everytime some NPC gets in front of the bullets is a bit off. I mean, way off. I'm more shocked than doing damage because I have to:
    1. Avoid flanking enemies
    2. Remember what polarity my character is
    3. Hope that when I get out of cover to shoot a target of my polarity, a random won't just pop up and shock me because... why not?

I think if it was implemented like in the underground where you just charge your polarity until it shocks you it would've been better. This way you could get 3-4 kills of opposite polarity before going down. The shock effect is way too long.

Also, why aren't the NPCs of opposite polarity than me get shocked if they shoot me?

    ----------
This was not a rant. Just my opinion.
    I deactivated the event.

It's challenging. I also needed some time to get in, and being unconcentrated can be "punishing", but it's also fun if you have memorized the mechanics.

I just miss the last reward, and these could be better, but I enjoy the different gameplay so far.

I think what they said about the shock effect will apply when you shoot the enemy twice, so the first shot will give you a warning. But that is obviously not enough when you fire with an automatic weapon, you will need a good reaction time to stop shooting.

What I noticed is that even if I shoot with a rifle only once the wrong polarity it shocks me, so I don't know if it's a bug or it is intentional for semi-automatic weapons. So I'm not sure if even after 1 bullet you get shocked or the second, so maybe a better clarification on that ingame wouldn't be bad.

At the end of the day, you need to have the awareness when an NPC can get in the way, when/who to shoot, that is the point.

About the NPC getting shocked, that will kill the challenge, because if you have plus you can just kill the NPC with plus and those with minus won't be able to damage you, so it's basically getting immunity where you can focus on one polarity which removes the whole point of the event.

I use a rifle and have been shocked with the one shot. Either because The polarity changed because someone else on the enemy side.
    1. reloaded
    2. Got meleed attacked by different npc
    3. Opposite polarity crossed the field of fire

the polarity event isnt to punishing at all, you shoot the same colour enemy as your arm if you shoot the wrong colour you get electrocuted/stunned for 2 seconds

    using a skill
    reloading
    switching weapons
    using melee

all these change your polarity, the easiest option is to switch weapons its not hard at all

Using a skill - NO effect on polarity
    Reloading - Changes YOUR polarity
Switching weapon - Changes YOUR polarity
Using Melee - Changes ENEMY polarity (swaps all of them in a radius - neg to pos and pos to neg)

I've also noticed that 1 shot will stun. Nemesis actually warns you just by scoping on the wrong polarity before you shoot. Shotgun however has been challenging, as 1 stray pellet, especially when they're grouped up, can be annoying.

Since your damage can be boosted up to +50%, I'd say it's rewarding, rather then punishing. Although, sometimes it can be difficult to kill flanking enemy fast enough.

    Personally I love this.

    Forces use more weapon changes.
    Forces more focus.
Forces more real time tactical changes.
Benefits feel rewarding if done properly.

If I run dps, I dont have any issues. I'll occasionally get zapped, but really its cause I deserve it.

I did have issues when sheild tanking though. Too much reloading with my SMG/AR made it difficult for me to manage fast enough to be effective.

    Just my two cents.
Certainly this isnt for everyone, but for me it is exciting.
