Hey everyone,
I'll do my best to answer everyone's questions and frustrations.
First of all, I created a sticky thread with steps in there to tackle crash upon launch issues. This thread should help some of you: https://forums.ubisoft.com/showthrea...shooting-Steps!
I have also seen recent reports that MSI Afterburner has been having compatibility issues with Ghost Recon Breakpoint. If you use this software, please make sure it is fully updated and if that doesn't work, try disabling it.
Thank you. Let's first focus on any crashing issues you receive then we can always discuss performance afterwards.Originally Posted by cminke Go to original post
I have noticed that MSI Afterburner is running in the background. As mentioned above I have seen reports of this causing crashes recently, so please try updating or disabling it. The above sticky thread should also be a big help!
Hello! I have reviewed your system files and I believe your crashing is due to not meeting the minimum requirements. Our support article can be found below.Originally Posted by CharlieFPG Go to original post
- Your CPU is an i7-3630QM at 2.4GHz, however we recommend at least an i5-4460 at 3.2GHz
- Your graphics card is GTX 670M and we recommend at least a GTX 960 at low settings
At Ubisoft Support we can do the very best we can to help players resolve their issues, however we don't have any involvement in a decision such as that.Originally Posted by cminke Go to original post
I appreciate that performance and crashes issues are extremely frustrating and when a lot of similar forum posts are created it may seem as though the game is unstable. However, in my experience there is usually a perfectly logical explanation for the crashes and Ubisoft Support is able to get things back up and running.
We really want what is best for the players, especially in a time where we are spending more time in our homes (I'm currently working from home). I read every post, break it down and offer suggestions I truly hope will resolve the issue for players. Please take the time to read my above suggestions and let us know if the issue remains afterwards, we'll be here to help.
Thank you all for your time!
- I'd like to mention again that I have noticed more crashes recently when playing with MSI Afterburner running, however this should now be resolved. Make sure your applications are up to date, or try disabling MSI afterburner.
- As detailed in our system requirements support article, SLI is not supported: https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/faqs/47577/
I removed any gup overclocking software, MSI/ EVGA both uninstalled and no changes to the problem
SLI had been working and actually working it seems as both GPUs were working at 95-98% load achieving 30FPS at 3x 4k ultra-wide.
the issue is persistent with single or both card installed with SLI bridge or without, and with or without SLI enabled for NV surround, or for enabling each display or for maximum performance
if this is a new update I'm curious WHY?
Is this the same for Miltigpu scaling? or NVlink setups with multi GPU? does it not support it but still run?
Thank you for the kind words. I know these issues can be frustrating so I want to help in any way I can.
From the information I have, SLI, Crossfire and NVLink have never been officially supported. I remember from launch that this has always been the case, this was never changed with an update.
As for why - This is not information I have access to but I believe support for these technologies is quite low overall in the industry. I'm sure we'll see the benefits of multi GPUs in the future as they have the potential to push games beyond their limits, and it would be nice for us all to take advantage of that.
There is no official support so I don't believe you will see a performance boost with a multi GPU setup.
Regarding your case - I can see you have received a lot of responses already and a lot of progress has been made. I've added this forum thread to show what steps we have tried, so we're not suggesting you to do the same steps twice.
At this point I believe it is best we now leave it to the support team. Another support agent may have more ideas but you appear to have tried everything and so your support case can now be escalated to the GRB team.
We don't require another System Information report at this time, but if we ever request another, please press "Export" rather than "Save". This will put it in a .txt format and is easier to read
Thanks again for your time, we are always here on the forums if you need anything!
Thanks again and I appreciate the acknowledgment and the development of great content.
With the new Intel Xe GPU's in the near future, I would push Ubi's PC based team to get working on this and even reach out to intel to correlate efforts to produce the best looking and highest achieving games on the market.
I've always loved Ubisoft's game content just not the ANNOYING glitches that come with it. once these are ironed out the content surpasses most!
If there's an opportunity to help with feedback and review id be happy to contribute my resources and time to help! Pm me if there's anything!
Thanks again.
Thank you, I appreciate your answer.Originally Posted by Ubi-Raziel Go to original post
I was afraid I would face this challenge. Sadly this is a ASUS ROG laptop so it is not really easy to improve the GPU. Nevertheless I uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled the drivers using the Windows updater and I could run the game in 'low' settings again. The same I managed to do at the beginning of the Free Weekend and the Betas.
I suppose I might be able to get a new rig on the long run.
