If Kelso was right about two ounces of gold per bullet on the New York Federal Reserve mission, there's 6000 tons of gold in there.
1 ton of gold = 32,000 ounces. So:
32,000÷2=16,000 bullets per ton, which makes:
16,000×6,000=96,000,000 bullets.
So yes, as she says, that is an amazing (and rather awesome) amount of bullets.
My only question is, how effective would it be as a munition? Isn't gold more malleable than most other precious metals?
Plus, during the mission, you find they were also minting their own money. How much did they already use I wonder?
Just started thinking about all this as I played the mission again.![]()

I've also heard rumors that the NTSB have been searching for the secrets behind near invincibile trains that suffer next to no damage from crashing into multiple solid brick walls.
When the results should be something closer to this.
Just to note incase people worry I'm being disrespectful. Whilst passenger carriages are seen, this train crash was intentional and no passengers or crew were onboard at the time. The train also had no driver. 2nd Picture credit to Nigel Tout - http://www.nigeltout.com/
I guess if you had no choice gold would work as an alternative. Although it's soft like lead so won't punch through body armor without a full metal jack on it. Just the gold itself when hitting without the jacket would flatten out and cause catastrophic damage. Probably along the same lines as a mini ball used during the Civil War.
Gold has the exact same properties as lead as far as its use as a bullet goes. Reason you have all the myths about turning lead to gold is because they are so similar.Originally Posted by morti79 Go to original post
I didn't expect to find that the gold bullet was more durable and even a bit faster. This was a fascinating video to watch. Thank you for sharing and OP, that was an interesting thing to ponder and to attempt to calculate. Peace.Originally Posted by Escritores Go to original post
