The Solo Balance Problems Seems To Be Most Problematic With Cleaners

Yesterday I spent some time playing solo missions at "challenging" difficulty. I am running an AR/MMR build with about 850k armor and DPS out form the AR is about 5-6 million.

Playing a DC mission against the Outcasts (it was potomac even center) it was almost like before the update with my old GS500 maxed build. Takes longer, but if you play well you can get through it without dying. I don't even think I used an armor kit.

Playing NY against the Rikers (it was Wall Street), I honestly thought it would be a huge fail. But I was able to complete it with just a couple wipes. I did learn that running the AR in the final batlle is not good idea. Takes too long and too many bullets. to bring down the yellows, and the first wave of that battle is several yellows. Switching to a shotgun for that mission segment worked well.

Playing NY against the cleaners (it was the mission on the abandoned ship) it was just not possible. Couldn't even get very far into the mission. You run out of bullets and then your are pretty much done. The damage output of this faction has be a bug. It just isn't even fun.

I think all missions in NY are way harder than the DC missions on the same difficulty. The returning factions in NY seem to seriously be much stronger pound for pound than the factions in DC and the fire damage they inflict seems much stronger too.

I'm not as far along as you as I just got to level 36 last night in NY. I've done the tanker, the skyscraper and clinic missions where most of the AI were cleaners. I've never been so on my toes and stressed (in a good way) in all my years of playing games. Granted, I'm playing on normal and going through the story, but what a rush this NY DLC has been. Of all the AI the ones that are giving me the most challenge are the cleaners, although I thought another group used fire as well. I switched up from using a turret with standard rounds to the fire chem launcher (fight fire with fire, right). I wipe a lot, but honestly, I welcome the challenge and just cannot imagine what it would be at heroic or challenging and I'm not sure I want to experience that at all. My build is not optimal as I'm pretty much just upgrading pieces as I gain levels, but I'm learning to use the calibration and library finally. I just hope I can make it all the way through the campaign without having a stroke.

Just finished solo'ing the Dragov mission on challenging - AND it was invaded by rogues halfway through. Literally if you stay far away and use mmr rifles with high headshot dmg its viable - i have a crit dps setup however. Its waiting and hoping they dont use armor kits or heal skills tbh.

The only problem ive been having is the shield + nailgun guys, and those cleaners with the flamers - ive no idea where the weakpoints are, and if you spray too long with an lmg your dead - so forced to use rifles tbh as you limit exposure per shot. They just have SO much health that you cant sit in a spot and take em out - you gotta keep moving. Its problematic if you dont deal with smaller enemies fast enough because you get blasted moving to avoid the tanks. (why cant we tank like that?)

The worst case is you get many tanky rusher type enemies and a shield user - its a reset mission unfortunatly - because you cant get em down fast enough. I believe you can use some skills to target proxies and weak points, and IF the firefly can break the nailgunners shield thats great - but ive yet to have it work - and because his red jamjars are on his shoulders at the back, trying to get behind him is difficult. Ive no idea what those are, but he wobbles when you hit them

Grand Washington hotel vs a WONY mission such as Aaron Kenner is like night and day in difficulty. Missions in Div2 are so poorly balanced and broken you have to find other activities to compensate solo play.

For a game that's been on the shelves for over a year now, it's the most unbalanced it's ever been. There should be no excuse at this late stage yet those guys pat each other on the back in SOTG every week like they're making progress, it's baffling to me.

Weird one, I actually find the Cleaners easier than the Outcasts, mainly because of the heavy weapons guy in the Outcasts is a complete pain.

Though I guess it depends on the mission/activity you are doing.

Heroic global CP's with the cleaners can be fun if you get the boss as a rusher as he has 3 other rushers too, so running around trying to dodge them can become a issue.

Stranded Tanker can be tough because of the Heavy flamethrowers you encounter in a few sections

I'm sure it was an attempt to make them feel powerful and menacing. Wow factor kinda thing. Problem is that the game scaling is completely broken on anything outside of normal difficulty... The cleaner heavies are a good example. If you are solo your only option is to run like a madman trying to kite them and hope you don't get cornered... Realistically they should cut npc armor 50% on anything hard and above immediately until they can figure out how to fix the game. It wouldn't be the perfect solution, and it might make a few things too easy, but it would pull the game out of it's free fall into destruction...

Cleaners at CP4 are miserable! The multiple waves of multiple shield strikers consume nearly all of your time.
Much less the big flame throwers with nearly unlimited range damage and unerring accuracy with their grenades.
The only way to beat them is plenty of space to dodge roll and keep the high ground.

I agree completely and I believe it's UBI's way to push players into content.
The week WoNY came out, it was vice versa between NY and DC.

sounds to me like you are rushing the enemy. You play like a US marine you're going to take casulties like them. Its a cover based shooter not a charge of the jarheads shooter.
