Thank you for making CC a thing again.

Yes, if you want to succeed on heroic or above you need to think about crowd control now. The days of the DPS rush are over and I for one am happy with that. Not everyone understands that yet and I have been in more than one group that rushes forward, gets wiped and complains about how everything is unbalanced.

But the groups I have been in that actually use CC skills (foam, shock trap, blinder, etc) have always been able to push through. Worried about a nail gun or flamer boss? Foam him in place. Getting rushed by a ton of shield wielding yellows? Shock trap field and explosives. Need to knock those yellow snipers out of their hidey hole? Flame chem launcher.

Use cover, move slow, watch behind you and use that CC and you will find things are not as terrible as some want to make them out to be.

I mean, you still need DPS players to take advantage. My main PVE build is a Status Foam build, but it's useless without someone dishing out the damage.

I agree. Skill builds are not very solo adaptable right now. It's sad that skills need a patch already to complete.with red builds.

No offense to anyone who likes foam or sniper or trap. However your not using those as a solo and burning elites down with your nerf gun. I have a sticky that hits 4.8 mil and it took 4 shots to a hard named boss and he was still up and I almost died burning him down with my lmg. Other then sniper most skills are just too weak.

I haven’t tried them myself yet because I haven’t been able to play a ton, but I will say I’ve seen some players use the traps very successfully in groups. I’m still farming some skill stats for my library, but I do look forward to trying to put a build together to use them.

    I agree with this too.

But, people tend to forget a dps also cc's because of the innate stagger, so cc builds that are/were available still have limited use for a meta group.

Kinda funny quoting the new Merphee like this, i gotta say. I've just kind of envisioned him behind his keyboard past few weeks thinking, "must not type....must resist" lol.

I did mention being part of a team. But if you are running heroic and legendary missions solo then I applaud you.

My skills build can handle open world heroic stuff pretty easily, although it might take more time than a pure DPS build so I don't know what you mean by not being solo adaptable. I am all about moving around the field as well and that seems to help. I don't know how close you are to the bosses you are fighting, but I keep my distance. One thing I have noticed is many people seemed locked to the idea that you can only go forward in an attack and they let themselves get flanked or overrun from behind.

I would argue that not being situational aware is the biggest problem many people face when ramping up the difficulty.

Would I like skills to be buffed? Of course, but I also don't baseline everything off of seeker mines as the go-to skill it was pre warlords.

The point in my post was in my experience the most successful groups running heroic missions and even bounties have been those that actively use CC. Whereas pre warlords there was little to no reason to use any skill except seeker mine and hive for the most part.
