So, who made the suggestion to thin out build variety?

If it was Massive, you have to wonder why. Is it because they dont know how to balance? Its not like the build crafting in this game was all that deep before. Just lack of effort, or lack of ability? I haven't heard a good explanation.

Was it the old d1 players? If so, do they just not like rpgs? What made them think the trinity would work in this game? Have they played so much pubg they forgot what a division game was?

I mean, who wants to play a game where every single tank is the same, every single healer is boring?

FWIW I've played D1, I'm a casual and I hate the new gear system.

Ya know, its hard to appreciate some of the old guard that uses common sense. I just qish more of the old division 1 players would stand up and say that this game and the changes its made do not represent them and their preferences.

If i was a part of that community, i would be trying pretty hard to seperate myself from the people in this forum lately acting like they "saved" this game when they ruined it, and threaten to leave again when they already did.

my problem overall since the first game was always loot quality vs loot quantity. making builds isn't hard if you can read and when things work as they are intended to work. I don't mind the new system, and i didn't mind the old system we just had, just hated how brutal rng could be (1.5% AWD on a chest i'm looking at you). For me it's a mixed bag until I can figure out that sweet pot of survivability and dps.

Don't know about these forums but over on reddit there are a lot of D1 players complaining this is Patch 1.3(the bullet sponge patch) all over again. Anyone(og or not) who says they're the majority that's enjoying this update is straight up lying.

Spongefest is different for solo and 3+ man parties. So both sides are lying, technically.
As for build divercity - it's here. It's your (OP) problem, that you can't see it.
The only thing, i can agree about, is that stacking full reds is the easiest one.

Well, you know when every tank has a shield and every healer is either picking up a hive or leaving green puddles everywhere there is diversity.

    MATHIMATTICLLY this is false.
There is far less potential builds than before, just because people copy stuff off YouTube or build guides does not mean that there wasn't diversity before. Because if that is going to be the yard stick for what diversity is, then its just going to be the same in this system. Its common sense people will use what they are told is best.

Build diversity refers to how many builds are possible, not the diversity in what builds are being used. That is separate and called "Build usage diversity," which is a symptom of build viability, which users will always gravitate toward what is currently "meta" and influencers tell them to use.

So, you prefer TU7, when there were zero healer and tank builds at all, right? Or am i missing something?

Next yr the expansion will be gear with talents, mod slots and another small area map. This is their way to extend the life of the game. Giveth and taketh away and giveth back for $30. Just watch. Anyone wanna make a bet?
