You missed the mark. One of the most important rules in a role playingesque game is this:
#1) Never lessen the complexity or fundamentals of your core gameplay.
This rule is so gd well known I can't remember the last time it has had to be said. And for the love of God man, you certainly never do it in a way that flips your entire playerbase the middle finger.
You can trace back just about any successful ip, and see the pattern. It is as follows:
Base game -->more-->refine it-->more-->refine it ad nauseam.
If so help you, you need to make an exception, we the people call this a "nerf" and they are avoided at all costs. Why? Because sometimes a nerf can grow into a gigantic monster and completely devour a game....like this one.
You need to reconsider your roots. You need to rollback some concepts because this is a bland and empty shell of what it was. It's not even the same game really.
So, you either officially give your community the bird and say you wanna chase that Overwatch money, or apologize and roll it back. This isn't the game concept you sold us in The Division 1 and The Division 2.
I think that would be mad *****y, but you do you. If you think some wannabe pro youtubers represented your community and we all wanted an official DZ league with ten dollar pay outs (because this game ain't popular) you're wrong. So wrong.
You had better spice things up like rolling back some stuff, or a mod station, or effing SOME THONG because people are going to drop this like a lead balloon and guess what? So will they, so will they, Massive...AGAIN.
You listened to the wrong gd people.
Agreed. The game was in a very good state and there was no need to reinvent the wheel by introducing The Division 2.5. All that was needed were a few new narrative missions, the recal library and some minor tweaks. If they want to make an xcpac fine, but there was no need for drastic changes. Give the git gud bunch their Bullet Sponge Directive if they want it so much, let the rest of us enjoy the game we originally paid for.
Honestly, you only joined March *th and you've been spamming this forum as if you know better. IMO you're just a arrogant POS troll.
As for what you want out this game, you just want a theory craft simulator. You do not care about balancing this game. You do not care about this game's content. You do not care about anything this game except for the game to be easy and for you to do whatever you want in terms of build regardless of mechanics or the type of game this is. This is a cover looter-shooter with RPG mechanics, you want a essentially broken single-player RPG like Fallout or Elder Scrolls.
That's because HE knows better than you, and that's a fact. Btw no need to drop personal insults disguised as arguments, we see can through it. When the majority of the player base leaves, will YOU pay the server maintenance costs? I've played 1500 hours in this game. Concerning TU8, one thing is sure: the baby was thrown out with the bathwater. They've "fixed" a lot of things, which didn't have to be fixed in the first place, then presented a blatantly untested pre-alpha application. Now they will be preoccupied for the next 5-6 months to fix the fixes, but I have neither the time nor the willingness to be a game-tester and pay for it, instead of getting paid. One thing became obvious to me, before uninstalling this mess: these developers are only interested in the money, they don't care to play with their own creation.Originally Posted by Auztinito Go to original post
That's the thing. He does not know better. Build Diversity only matters when it is seen as useful not because you feel like changing it up and downgrading. TU7 was not only boring due to lack of content. It's was a lack of build variety. Any build diversity before hand was just a bunch of vanity. Hybrid Builds (a.k.a Master builds) broke down day-to-day game-play and trivialized end-game and group content. TU7 was more or less acting as a bad imitation of a single-player action game and not a Co-Op Cover Looter-Shooter with RPG mechanics.Originally Posted by kanneltaja Go to original post
Majority of the player base left in TU7 and came back for this and WONY. I'm a testament to that fact where most people I know that played the game were bored because there was no point in downgrading to do another build. As for the "insult", for all intents and purposes it's completely true. They never shared their opinion on this game or Div 1 until TU8. I have sneaking suspicion they haven't played the game until it was 3 USD.
You didn't convince me as being a halfway knowledgeable person, In fact, you sound as one who compares apples with oranges.Originally Posted by Auztinito Go to original post
That's not a comparison. What the Op is looking for is literally found in single player RPG that have extreme power creep with no concern on balancing difficulty. That's simply not what Division is about. They should look towards those games instead of games that want you grind for loot and build diversity that is not overshadowed by other builds and are seen as useful not as a downgrade.Originally Posted by kanneltaja Go to original post
[QUOTE=Auztinito;14833469 It's was a lack of build variety. [/QUOTE] Well, I'm the living testament against this argument. I've written 10 TB full with build test videos, so don't even start on that one. Currently there are 2 possible build types: either full red or full blue. Sorry to break it to you. I know what complexity is and the lack of thereof as well, when I see it.
There are two types of build variety. How about reading exactly what I said and not cherry-picking one thing. Could you build for anything? Sure.Did a lot of them contradict the game-play or trivialize end-game? Yup. How was it trivialized? Master Builds existing broke this. That's what people mean by hybrid build. For example, if you can use one character to do everything why make another character. It's useless and mostly for those that want to restart or like to have alt characters. Builds should never act like this which is exactly what happened. Master Builds broke this by simply existing on a system of where you need to sacrifice 1 of X to get 1 of Y or 1 of Z. Master builds instead add 1 to everything. There's a reason a lot of RPG and MMOs have caps and limiters on what you can and can not do.Originally Posted by kanneltaja Go to original post
Lastly, you've apparently uninstalled the game and hate the developer team. So, like move on. Go find another game developer and forum to pester.
