Shinobi is trash at dominion- Change my Mind

I've played the Shinobi since it was first released. The character is my favorite, however I see some major problems with the character. The light attacks have always been to slow. Martial Artists don't generally bring their fists backward before attacking, they step off with their trailing leg, turn their hips into it and snap the arm all in one fluid motion. " the shinobi's attacks are flawed because of this", if I throw a light, it will be parried. If I faint a heavy and throw a light in a different direction it may hit but the slow animation of the shinobi's moves whether it be a light or heavy attack gives the enemy to much advantage to see it coming and parry the shinobi, I also notice if the shinobi is one step away or one block away from an opponent, and uses the double dash to gain another extra step or block away from the opponent. That opponent can simply dash forward once and use guard break, its free if the opponent does this. The guard break acts as if it tracks the shinobi thru his double dash and in my opinion that is completely unrealistic and unbalanced compared to any other character in the game. I notice there are too many moves that can negate and punish a shinobis double dash kick. I notice the shinobis full sprint dash is not much faster than a peacekeepers sprint. The shinobi has one bleed move and it is highly negatable. The shinobi has too low of a health pool to be balanced in dominion where 2v1 or worse fighting odds are very common. Most of the shinobis I see fighting usually stay back away from the action and throw their sickles at the best opportunity. In my opinion that is a rather boring way to play a character. I notice if I click the right mouse, the shinobi will either throw a heavy or charge up his sickles to throw them. This is rather troubling when I want to faint a heavy attack and the shinobi charges to throw. or if I want to parry and the shinobi just stand there charging a sickle throw until I get hit. "I'm making sure I'm not holding the right mouse down when I study this". I've played the shinobi through 26 prestige and this new update slowing down attacks just makes the shinobi much more punishable. If I played in duels I used to win often, now the light attacks are able to be parried at such a rate its almost pointless to try. The shinobi has sat around collecting dust while the majority of other characters get buff after buff and nurf after nurf… where are the shinobis changes? Surly the developers cant think it is a perfectly balanced character compared to other top tier characters in modes like dominion, or any game mode anymore for that matter. This update is trashing the shinobi even more now I had no problem parrying most light attacks except for the orochi's from time to time. Now parrying anything is child's play and with the low health pool of the shinobi this just sucks.

I believe shinobi is weak in duels due to zero mix up and reactable bashes.

BUT, in dominion he's quite good. Yeah, you do stay away and use ranged attacks, but you also gb and stun lock + if you watch enemies stamina, you can drain them of it too with the kick. When it's safe you can come closer and do your melee attacks. Fighting in the dominion against shinobi is extremely annoying. You can't catch them, they always hide somewhere and when you're low hp, they just jump in and kill you.

I don't have to change your mind because it is the truth.
Shinobi doesnt have any combo chains, like other assassins do.
And the removal of his hyper armor on his kick was the final nail in the coffin.

And the worst is how slow the Ubisoft balance team notice it they killed him.

I'll disagree. Fought a rep 44 Shinobi today that knew how to actually play his kit in dominion. Despite his team losing every match against my team sans 1 he still carried their team by miles.
Am I going to say he's in a good spot? No. Am I going to say he's a good hero? Also no. But he's not trash. I can only think back on when people pestered Roman for a rework to LB and he told people to learn how to play LB.

We got that LB buff that leaned even harder into LB's "identity" and he became a sore on the game. I can only fear the day that the same thing happens to Shinobi.

I still manage about 3:1 kda and 2:1 kd in dominion.

The "ganking" kit of Shinobi is still phenomenal. Ranged GB with an ally nearby to get a free top heavy, ranged heavy to interrupt an opponent GB punish on your ally or just a plain double dodge kick to stagger someone out of revenge activation is decent enough for Shinobi to still be relevant in Dominion.

Unfortunately, it means playing like a scum... that is : pure ganking role. You should not stay and fight any 1v1 unless you already have a clear health advantage over your opponent (ex : Catch an opponent in an execution animation for a free ranged GB + sickle rain, then finish the 1v1).

But the BIG #1 problem with Shinobi in dominion is : he's a "win more" character. He's perfectly suitable for ganking and will snowball your team to victory IF your team is already ahead. On the other hand, if your team is losing all their 1v1 everywhere and the Shinobi gets no ganking opportunities, then his kit is wasted and you're a dead weight to your team. You might still be good, but in that uphill situation, playing another hero would have been much better for your team.

I agree with everything, expect the scum part. There is nothing scummy in any 4v4 tactics you use, you use the tools you were given properly for maximum effectiveness.

Thank you all for the input

I was never a big fan of the hyper armor, it made trading a stamina kick for half my health to common for it to be worth it. To put the shinobi in a pure gank category is a fan made up thing. These game developers promised balance but i do not see it. If they gave the shinobi different light and heavy attack animations and gave him SLIGHTLY more health id be happy. What i mean by different light and heavy animations is this, the shinobi brings his fists backward before attacking forward. As soon as i see a shinobi bring his hands back to his waits on either his left, right or front side i know a light attack is coming and i parry it almost every time. Im sure MANY of you do as well. The heavy attack is also sooo slow its just used for fainting into a light, another technique, or ganking when the opponent is not paying attention. Did i mention sitting back with his sickles charged to throw, or stalking for a dash kick waiting for that low stamina moment is BORING. Sure i could simply play a different character but id be playing with characters i dont like as much as the shinobi. "Whats the point of playing then?" I cant do that lol I'd like to see some changes. I dont think im asking for much. He dont need armor, he dont need hyper armor. Imo he could use a second bleed attack but i can be happy without that if his attacks wernt such a dead give away for a parry and if his health pool wasnt so low. With the new update slowing down attacks its even worse. So far no one has changed my mind. That is what i asked with the post so with that said trolls wont be acknowledged. People have been staight forward and sincere so far. Thank you for that.

Not having viability in 1v1 means that the Shinobi is a completely trash hero.

People like to say that Shinobi has ganking potential against opponents, but you can literally make that argument about ANY hero because either way you're fighting someone who is outnumbered in the first place.

Every hero has disruptive and incapacitating move sets that they can do on a distracted opponent and even then it's still a risk for the Shinobi since the ranged GB is just a quick way to activate the oppnent's revenge mode.

Therefore, it is a weak argument when people say that Shinobi is feasible in Dominion when the odds are clearly against the Shinobi when he's trying to capture a zone or defend a zone in a solo 1v1 fight.

The current version of Shinobi is utter garbage and he has been that way ever since Path 2.11 when live, which was around August, 2019. The hero has only been getting worse, there is literally no good reason to use Shinobi when there are far more superior heroes in the line up.

Them Shinobi was trash 7 months ago and he still trash even today.
