So..... what your saying is it's just another day for massive and td series.

Let me ask a question to all.

How can a dev team be so bad but a game look so good? How is this even possible these days? It can be a fun game but the bugs and poor dev management of the game is what holds it back. They are clueless. They dont learn or play their own game. What a thing these days. So have your work suck so bad and appear so good. On a regular basis too.

Your suggestion to be patient, "optimize" my build/tactics and level the SHD watch is no solution to the main problem:

    the game isn't fun anymore!

Division 2 after TU8 feels like hard, annoying work - very unrewarding work.

...i guess the navy seals training couldn't be much worse^^
10-15 minute heroic mission speed runs

I hadn't looked at any gear that dropped from anything in 3 months.

Just two things that were extremely poor for a while.

I blasted through the manhunt last night, all solo on challenging, even getting the CP's up to level 4 and it was great fun. Plus I got loads of great loot, maxed out atts, a few near god rolled items which will go towards making a build to try and give the manhunt a re run on heroic solo, though I don't think I will be able to do Roosevelt. But I will give it a go, all part of the fun for me.
Face tanking through heroic missions in TU7 was not fun for me.

If normal and hard actually dropped the gear to move to higher difficulties I would be playing those, as far as my experience go, though, only in Challenging I drop a few HE gear, rolled in the lower half of the bar.
Add to that that I play solo, and the number of drops is even lower than those in group, that can also exchange gear with one another, and you see why I detest the game.
Valid points. I guess I need to step back a level and see if I enjoy the gameplay on Hard the same, does my enjoyment revolve around the Ai being hard to kill (TTK) or is their different levels of Ai behaviour...not sure I've noticed.

If, for example, you open a level 4 CP loot cache and get 3 HE, 1 Purple in Challenging, but in Solo you only get 2 HE & 2 Purple, then THAT's a real issue that needs addressing. as a Scaling bug/miscode in my opinion.

The number & types of drops, or chances of those drops, HAS to be the same in solo or group...surely?

Wait, you mean from only the yellow crate or from all the crates in the saferoom? Because from the yellow one I receive 2 and sometimes 3 drops (as in 2 HE + 1 purple).

When you speed run a challenge mode mission in 5-10mins by skills killing the entire room on a single use, 15s CD or guns killing the entire room in a single clip, its a problem. Gearing was a mess due to the budget system, you needed sheets to know what the top rolls of items could be.

TU7 was a complete mess of things. If your idea of fun was to EZ mode Challenging+ content then a game is never going to last my friend. There are generally 2 types of players (theres more subsets but in a general sense there are only 2).

Your Hardcore playerbase. They are the ones that spend hours and hours playing per day, trying to min/max gear. They are also the ones that generally spend the most money in terms of things like cosmetics and game upgrades. They are looking for something to actually challenging them and figure out how to beat said challenge. They are also the ones that actually define the meta builds for every other player to copy.

Then you have the more casual player base. These people are the ones that buy the game, play off and on again as they have time. They don't care about min/maxing and just want to play the game. They usually come back during a new content release, explore it for a bit then move on.
Within this casual subset are the players that think if the hardcore player can kill the hardest content, so should they without putting the effort in to actually gearing for it. When the going gets hard, if its too hard, they will take to the forums or reddit or whatever and complain about it being too hard and cry for a nerf. They are the vocal minority of players yet because they are so loud about it, they are the ones that actually force the devs to make changes to make things easier.

But you know what happenes when things get easier, more people stop playing sooner.

First of All, the Casual base already plays off and on as it is, if things got easier, they'd stop sooner and only return for new conent, spend at most a few days on it then stop playing again. They arn't playing, arn't spending anything for things like cosmetics, and playerbase goes down.
Remember too that the crier for the nerf is also a casual player, he gets his wish, EZ modes the content down, goes back onto the forums to whine for "whens more content coming", finds out nothing is coming for a while, then promptly quits playing, generally with some form of "this game sucks post"

The hardcore crowd is now also in a rough spot. Because content is now super easy, more so for them now because they already min/maxed their builds, there isn't anything hard left to shoot for now. So guess what happens, they stop playing. In turn EVERYONE has basically stopped playing the game, game dies into oblivion.

If content didn't get nerfed to EZ mode, the hardcore players stay as they are still wanting to push that harder content and the casual players would still be on and off again players when they got the itch to play and they also still have plenty of stuff to do when they did get on. The only people up in arms are the cries for nerfs and their threats to leave. Dev's need to stop listening to them and just let them leave. They arn't the ones that keep the player counts up months down the road anyway. Its the Hardcores and the on again off again casual players.
I guess you never played TD1 then........... what you described in the first paragraph was literally TD1 alllllll over........ Incursion farming for gear sets (speed runs in under 5 mins) lol Incursions were suppose to be the 'hardest' content and they were. but you know what made it 'ez' the abundant gearset options (build options) that players could use. TD2 was not 'ez' it was just you really only had '1 build' that defined everything. TU8 was not the way to solve that, all it did was remove a magnitude of options for the players, they nerfed exotics into the groun, they nerfed skill mods into the ground, they nerfed talent options into the ground. so much stuff got 'cut out' for the sake of simplicity.

I said it during release, Gearsets should be the defining 'build diversity' not talents. Gearsets made TD1 the best experience ever, you could run sniper builds, skill builds, tank builds, dps builds, healer builds. etc. you had soooo many options back then because of Gearsets, now its just a very basic system that has no effort behind it and no real reward for player engagement.

I have no idea. There have always been players that burn through content and spend an unhealthy number of hours playing. I can't speak for them but It's not something that I'd choose to do. I'd rather take a leasurely pace (read 2-4hrs a day) and enjoy the experience. I'd imagine that the players that have already hit Legendary, are SHD Lvl 100 and Finished off the first manhunt will be off to burn through something else... hopefully not while burning themselves out.

Consider that they gave us a years worth of gameplay -- that alone is a task in and of itself -- and that just adding more content wouldn't do it as it would have been ridiculously easy content due to us having a years worth of experience and builld meta behind us all. Had you not had that year behind you as an agent then you simply find yourself now where we all began... hunkered down, under pressure, struggling through the battles.

Frankly, I bloody love the game where it's at right now.
By not putting us back at the starting line and making us do everything over again. Thats a no no.

Your justification of this, is EXACTLY what's wrong with gaming. You make it sound as if it's some unavoidable norm when other developers do exactly that, while NOT doing exactly the former, and there is no problem.

I feel gross just reading your post tbh.

True, that's what I told in most of all my comments on these forums as well. All of it was a big, fat lie. As a consequence came the uninstall, as for many others. I doubt I'll ever reinstall it. People capable of lying into the face of their customers can not be trusted.

They can't say that there was an appropriate reason to reduce armor kits while so heavily buffing the enemies. This is an obvious indicator that they want players to struggle and become frustrated; thus compelling them to buy the DLC for the new levels and equipment. They want to make them wonder if the grass is greener in NY. I believe they will make the appropriate changes once Ubi is convinced that the milk has run dry. I think they are in a panic mode and have done this to present a sales injection to their shareholders. I'm interested in NY, but I'm not setting foot in there until the price for the DLC drops to a reasonable level and the unnecessary headaches have been sorted out.
Good comment and might make sense actually. Never thought of it this way!
