TU7 was boring, nothing to play for, no actual challenge to any activity!!

TU8 - loving it and not having any real issues with the difficulty. Global Difficulty set at Challenging, completed one section of the man hunt. Clearing CP's and running missions.

They were NOT easy....but finally a challenge and fun to play again!

Loot is boring, exotics are useless, build diversity is gone, enemies are sponges and can one shot you. Lots of bugs, CPs are not being recaptured for more than a week, i can't target farm loot because of it, hardwired set is bugged, striker set is bugged, game crashes, audio problems. Kill TU8 with fire, it's an abomination.

It seems to me that they are deliberately making DC a chore in order to coerce people into buying the new content. They can't say that there was an appropriate reason to reduce armor kits while so heavily buffing the enemies. This is an obvious indicator that they want players to struggle and become frustrated; thus compelling them to buy the DLC for the new levels and equipment. They want to make them wonder if the grass is greener in NY. I believe they will make the appropriate changes once Ubi is convinced that the milk has run dry. I think they are in a panic mode and have done this to present a sales injection to their shareholders. I'm interested in NY, but I'm not setting foot in there until the price for the DLC drops to a reasonable level and the unnecessary headaches have been sorted out.

I play with the world on Challenging too, but it's not a matter of being able to kill things, it's a matter of not having fun doing it. It is way easier killing things with guns than with skills because skills are clunky and bugged AF.

Even though you thought TU7 was too easy and boring, I was having so much fun I have not stopped playing a single day for 2 months straight. I was jumping from one activity to the next, felt in no way overpowered, and still kicked the bucket at times against heroic enemies.

If one or more higher difficulty tiers were needed they could simply have been implemented above heroic or through directives.

Skills did not need to be stomped like they have, exotics did not need to be reworked like they have, holstered talents did not need removal...

All we needed was the implementation of the library and the bars under affixes, there was not even any need to rework gear.

We did not need to have reduced gear drops with a falsely advertised gear quality.

I have bought it and I'm hating it. NY is just as bad as DC.

That's fair enough, in each game each player finds what they enjoy to do. Unfortunately I saw my clan die as people got bored as the difficulty slipped lower, since the update its been busy every night and the chatter I hear is positive.

I agree they now have some mechanisms to add difficulty so who knows in the end. Other question for you though is - Would lowering difficulty also help you find the enjoyment you had before? Especially if its TTK which is a problem.

Pleny of players stigmatise Normal or Hard difficulties but frankly it should be "play to enjoy the game", and not labelled.

That's good, but I don't think your clan died out because of the difficulty, but because of the repetitiveness.
Even so, if higher difficulties were needed they could have been implemented without changing the game for everybody, but just giving the option to those who wanted it.

First of all I don't consider this difficult, just annoying. If TTK were to be at least halved and skills were to be fixed I think I could enjoy it again.

If normal and hard actually dropped the gear to move to higher difficulties I would be playing those, as far as my experience go, though, only in Challenging I drop a few HE gear, rolled in the lower half of the bar.
Add to that that I play solo, and the number of drops is even lower than those in group, that can also exchange gear with one another, and you see why I detest the game.

Not only is it the only answer, as of now, but it is the correct answer. How else are they to create another years worth of gameplay without putting us back on the start line and having us go at it again? Consider that they gave us a years worth of gameplay -- that alone is a task in and of itself -- and that just adding more content wouldn't do it as it would have been ridiculously easy content due to us having a years worth of experience and builld meta behind us all. Had you not had that year behind you as an agent then you simply find yourself now where we all began... hunkered down, under pressure, struggling through the battles.

Frankly, I bloody love the game where it's at right now.

I wish we can revert back to TU7, it was fun and builds were diverse. Add NY, library, recal, season events, new gears without changing format of the old gears style it would have been perfect. If people said it was too easy, that's why we you have global heroic and legendary. Everyone would have been happy. I don't know why they wasted so much resources on recreating everything, the time could have been spent on creating new content.

I read this a lot and I wonder: people have already finished legendary, how long till they ask for more while us poor casuals, who just want to unwind playing a game, will have to endure their e-peen contest?
