Only asking. In other games it is tragic. In games from EA, Rocklstar, Blizzard there is practically nonexistent (mostly hard scripts). Even in Ubisoft titles like Ghost Recon Breakpoint they could probably borrow it. Do you have programmers from AI or any scientists there? Their behavior, tactics and animations are amazing. Even under the cover, they have several degrees of curling up, slipping from the run into the cover, working together. AMAZING!!!!![]()
Agree but we still have salty little babies who cant do heroic and are trying to get it changed so we stand still in the middle of fights and kill them all with little effort.
This game with this new stuff and increased difficulty is going in right direction but their are far to many babies on this forum who are crying saying heroic AI are too spongy.
Fact is they're rubbish without being shown what to do.
I use one build for DZ and Mission play , DZ take out 3 rogue's no problem ON MY OWN , Heroic in group and at a push and grind but get it done.
KEEP UP GOOD WOORK UBI / MASSIVE
If the AI would work properly, it would be great. However my experience isn't that good even in Div2. They bug out way too often. They are slow in reaction (except the overtuned grenade evade, now every char even red enemies can dodge grenades, kind of ridiculous). Needs a LOT of tweaking, but yeah I agree, it is getting better.Originally Posted by PazurColidace Go to original post
People still believe that AI would eat up the PC's resources, thats why they are stupid. They don't really understand the technology. Game Developers make games for people to "shoot and click" kind of gameplay. Most player couldn't coop with enemies almost as smart as a human, would have similar experience like in PVP. I assume this is the main reason why most enemies in most games are dumb bullet sponges.
Thanks for the perspective. We do like to complain about AI, but when compared to other games the AI in this game is actually really superior. Yes, it has its flaws and bugs, but compare this to let's say Ghost Recon Wildlands or Breakpoint and you'll see the difference straight away.

Recently watched a 10 minute gameplay demo from the upcoming Doom game, and it was a huge letdown. One of the big reason is the crazy stupid gameplay, where enemy either coming forward to you in a straight line, standing still and not doing anything or just shooting in your direction. And the guy was just moving around, clicking left click to shoot them or hit them close range with melee. In 2020 I expect much more, and this is why I want Massive to fix up this craphole game of Division 2, because the core is one of the best game in the last decade. Borderlands (3) still beating it though with a few miles. However if they fix the armor system and loot and the AI, this could end up being a good game where people constantly can come back to play a few rounds/missions.Originally Posted by NLxAROSA Go to original post
I dont think its a question, massive's ability to create amazing depth/art/animations are way on point!. and artistically the best there is today. (not seen any other game with this high quality standards)
But the questions still remains to most. is the game fun now, yes or No.
If yes. Good!, carry on.
if No, Why!.? address.
The game, the public and the people that play it is so vast, we can all have different experiences. - with a massive RNG based game some will get top loot fast, and others will have to be patient.
Does it now apply to the casual gamer? - NO, can you jump on and have some fun? NO.
Does it appeal to the heavy gamer, YES, does it require lots of time, YES,
So you sort of see what the problem is here. Not the art/animation.
Majority over minority, what works and doesn't, needs of the many rather than the few..

That's once again a pretty extrem view of things. Just as an example, the original Operation Flashpoint and the original Ghost Recon also had a very good and unforgiving AI. Apart from that I still prefer the AI (of The Division 2) from march 2019. Even if people say, they were overpowered, for me they were ambitious... And that was a lot of fun.Originally Posted by PazurColidace Go to original post
Now with the bulletsponge discussion going on, chances are good that the AI will change again, once again (!), but this will only create the next (neverending) cycle of complaints. Right now it's too "difficult", then it's too "easy", again and again.
That is what I think.
Nevertheless OP, it's good to hear that you like it.
