It really depends on player type:
- Players who focus on farming and efficiency will prefer a manual reset option, so that they never run out of good farming locations.
- Players who focus on immersion and narrative will prefer a dynamic world where control points can get taken over by the warring factions. They may dislike a manual reset option because in terms of the narrative, it feels wrong to deliberately let the enemies take over the control points that you just freed.
- Casual players (who don't have much of a voice here, but they do constitute a large portion of the player base) may prefer a world where the control points that they liberated stay free forever, they may dislike the setback of continually losing control points.
The best solution to make these different player groups happy is, in my opinion:
- On global difficulty level "normal", let liberated control points stay free, unless they get taken over by a story event. That way, casual players have a place where they can enjoy all of the content without feeling continuous setbacks
- From "hard" difficulty onwards, bring the dynamic world from before TU8.1 back.
- Finally, add a "reset control points" option to the global difficulty menu, for the farmers.
