So before the begining of year 4 it was announced that all the upcoming heroes would be heavies which I though would be really good since the only heavy that got added since
launch was Jiang Jun. At the time I thought that to be a heavy hero look wise they had to either:
A. Have considerable size and plenty of armor (Shugoki, Warlord, Jiang Jun)
B. Have a proper sized shield (Warlord and Conqueror)
Now it could be well argued that these are just ¨categories¨ I made up so that they include all the old heavies BUT it cannot be argued that the only properly heavy looking hero from year 4 is Black prior with his large shield and heavy armor.
Hitokiri has a medium build more fitting a hybrid or vanguard and an almost complete lack of any proper looking armor, instead opting to wear cloth ''armor'' as the only form of protection. Also lacking any shield.
Jormungandr is possibly the least heavy-esque lookin character from year 4. Much like Hitokiri he chooses not to use any kind of battlefield ready armor (Safe for the helmet)
instead showing his impressive packs. Build wise he looks like Berserkers cousin who barely grew any taller or larger than him and overall fits the look of an assassin a lot more.
As a weapon he chooses to wield comically over-sized hammer that he clearly doesn't have the strenght for, so he has to grip it right under the hammer head to be able to deliver faster attacks. He really just looks like a berserker or shaman who was handed a hammer accidentally.
Zhanhu is a bit more heavy like than Hitokiri or Jorm but he still is a small guy with weak armor with a long *** sword. The only saving grace I see in him is that he is (I think)
the second largest wu-lin after JJ and later on can equip some proper looking armor. I do find it a bit funny that the hero that looks lot more like heavy than the other two is considered a hybrid possibly due to his many assassin like characteristics.
This post is of course only made to discuss their look gameplay put aside, since every single one of them still somewhat feel like heavies. But if ubi bothered with making an exclusive year of heavies why not make them look the part ?
(Also I'am still mighty salty about finally getting a hammer hero but him not being a knight in full plate)
Not much to argue about bp, he is a heavy in every sense.
Hito wears the same amount of armor as Shugoki. He/she is big, wears the most ridicoulously oversized weapon, and feels strong. Some heavies armor on the level of Kensei would be cool. Rn, I consider her an anime character. That way, she is fun.
Jorm with Warlord level armor would be very heavy like. The other parts are right.
Zhanhu is a hybrid. One of the two arriving heroes is probably the second Wu lin heavy, the other is a Wulin assassin.
I disagree that Shugoki and Hitokiri are similar. Shugoki has a realistic large weapon and actual armor (ok not the best but still has a lot of it) whilst Hitokiri has her edgy executioner axe that's unrealisticly oversized and stupidly made with two blades. The only thing she has as an actual armor is some protection on her arms, bit of stomach protection, and a mask that I assume only serves to scare her oponents.
And I sure hope that one of the new wu-lins is an actualy armored badass with shield.
I disagree on Shugoki. The arms are completely unarmored, which are obviously the most vulnerable parts, disabling some muscles on them (or cutting them off) ends the fight very quickly. Some Hitokiri armor is the same level. Some Shugoki armor is just as clothy.Originally Posted by bramboforce Go to original post
This is the realistic Kanabo size:
The thing Shugoki wears would be totally useless for anything. Too heavy to wield properly.
I more so meant that best shugoki armor beats best hitokiri armor and my point about the weapon still stands since the main difference between the picture and ingame is the amount of wood and wood is light af. And cmon shugoki is no doubt the hero with the biggest physical strengh, he can do with a bit of a larger weapon. . Altough if shugoki couldnt finish the fight in a short amount of time
he is likely to get tired more easily due to his high amount of body fat (though even fat people can have relatively high amounts of stamina if trained correctly) only possibly being second to JJ who is an old man. Also I forgot to mention in the original post that apart from looking scary the hitokiris mask only serves to obstruct breathing and vision with no armor benefit. Shugokis looks a bit sturdier
but still has the same problems.
