I will tell you my name and my rank only.

<< Ooch!!! Pong!!! Ooch!!! Oooooooooch!!! >>

    OKOK I tell ya!!! everything!!!

    this is my hardware setup:

    <span class="ev_code_YELLOW">AMD FX60 @ 3GHz 250MHz x12 | Thermaltake Liquid Cooling
    Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe | Corsair XMS3500LLPro 1GB x2 @ 2-3-2-6 230MHz 11/12 Divider
Asus NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX SLI | ATI Theatre 550 Pro PCI-E
    Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS
    Maxtor SATA 120GB x2 | Seagate SATA2 320GB | Plextor PX-760SA SATA DVD-RW
Silverstone Zeus 750W PSU | Asus Vento 7700
    Dell 3007WFP | Logitech Z-680 Speaker System
Thrustmaster Cougar w/ Uber2 Mod | Simped Rudder Pedal | Logitech GT ForcePro | TrackIR 2</span>

    My software setup is:

    <span class="ev_code_YELLOW">Windows XP SP2 | Forceware 97.92
    DirectX 9.0C Feb2007 | IL2 4.08
    water=3 | effect=1
    2560 x 1600 | 8xAA | 16xAF | vSync=ON
    </span>

I experienced no big problem before and after installing the new dll.

One thing that may have changed is that, with the old dll sometimes I withness missing texture on some plane, such as FW190. WIth the new dll I do not see this happen so far.

And I just checked, fps is incdeed decreased over the water, before is 50 - 60, after is 40 - 50

Now I told ya everything!!!! can you let me go?

<< Ooch!!! Pong!!! Ooch!!! Oooooooooch!!! Oooooooooooooooooooooooch!!! >>

    S!

Thanks CrazyIvan for posting the DLL's.

Wanted to pass on a problem I had with IL2 & the 8800GTX control panel selection. In the Nvidia Control Panel under
    Manage 3D settings near the bottom is "<span class="ev_code_YELLOW">Threaded Optimization</span>" which :

Description : Allows you to take advantage of mulitple CPUs.

    Typical Usage Scenarios:
*Most newer applications should benefit from the <span class="ev_code_YELLOW">Auto-select </span> or On settings.
*<span class="ev_code_YELLOW">This setting should be turned Off for most older applications</span>.

I have the FX-60 Dual Core CPU with all the AMD drivers and dual core optimizers installed. I had the "Threaded Optimazation" in the "ON" position in the control panal. IL2 was running laggy and with some stutters. It got bad enough that I deleted and reinstalled IL2 because I could not find the source of the problem. I thoroughly checked the Config Ini file (affinity=3) and then the Nvidia Control panel again and saw that this application should not be used on older games/sims. I changed the setting from ON to Auto-Select and IL-2 ran top notch again.

Bottom Line--"Threaded Optimization" should only have two settings--Auto-Select or Off. Anyways I was hoping to help someone else avoid all the fustration of this problem that I encountered.

I turned off multi-thread support in IL2, by un-commenting the "affinity" command and set it to.... umm, can't remember now, is it "1"? anyway, I mean I turned it off. It is strange that, with my dual core CPU (FX-60 also), enable multi-thread support will cut fps by half.

Sometimes the game works to more than 60 FPS and other times in the same mission with the same map and the same conditions, offline and online, it me works to 25 FPS. Besides I do not obtain the whole yield that might with my 8800 GTX.

    IL2 Specs:
1946 installed up FB+AEP+ACE+PF and after patched with all patches. Actual 4.08m

Tested with original .dll and .dll special for 8800

    Specs PC:
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6400
    Asus P5W DH Deluxe
    2 GB Kingston Dual Channel
    XFX GeForce 8800 GTX

    Config.ini resume:

Maximum settings tested in Water 2 and 3, tested Forest 2 and 3.

    6800 settings tested.

    Nvidia Control Panel:

    Tested with AA 16xQ 8x 4x x2
    Tested with Antisotropic x16 x8 x4 None
    Tested with all diferent settings.

    Drivers Nvidia:

    Tested 97.92
    Tested 97.44
    Tested 97.02
Tested NGO 97.92 (All games no run with this)

I read again posts and i turned Threaded Optimization OFF for IL2, the problem seems that it(he,she) has disappeared, though even I have to do more tests(proofs).

Equally I have doubts it(he,she) brings over of the yield. With a PC like mine it(he,she) is normal that in a mission with 2 aircraft carriers friends and two enemies and approximately 32 planes between(among) friends and enemies, with very shoots in air lower the FPS to 20 30?

I also it(he,she) wanted to know if the Threaded Optimization is for multiple CPU, or also he is considered to be the "Core 2 Duo" like multiple CPU.

    Sorry foy my english.

if you experience very good FPS, and suddenly it goes down by half, it may be because your PC have overheat issue. I have dual 8800GTXs, and I have this problem when I first installed them. It turn out that the southbridge of my Motherboard, which sit between both 8800GTX, got cooked by the heat generated by them when they run in full speed. (However, both 8800GTX didn't overheat, but the heat they generated is too much for the southbrigde's fan to handle)
