As a Tiandi main for over 50 reps I can confidently say that he currently suffers from two issues that could be easily fixed with small changes.
The latest balance patch gave Tiandi the ability to delay top tiger dodge a bit more and thus get a little bit further range. This change actually allows Tiandi to reach certain characters after kicking them without the need of a wall.
The problem is, only a few characters can be hit by that for some reason.
That inconsistency is really bothersome and I would really love to see this made consistent - in other words, I would like to be able to reach with top tiger dodge after connecting the kick (without the need of a wall) regardless of which character I am facing.
A bigger issue with Tiandi is that the kick mixup is currently rendered useless by dodging backwards with top guard.
The soft feint into a tiger dodge simply doesn't work. What happens if they dodge backward with top guard is, the side tiger dodges don't reach (even though it's an undodgeable and they just used a dodge) and the top tiger dodge just gets blocked.
This means that the kick is not really viable unless there is a wall right behind the opponent.
I would like the kick to be a viable mixup and there are two easy ways to make it work.
Either make the side dodges catch a back dodge like they intuitively should thus allowing the tiger dodge mixup from the kick to catch any dodge.
OR
Give us the ability to normal feint the kick which will allow us to feint it into a guard break and catch the back dodge.
I believe Tiandi still needs a little bit of help and these small changes will make his kick, which is supposed to be an important part of his kit, viable and useable not only situationally but as a true mixup.
Please consider these ideas or find better solutions but fix these issues that hinder Tiandi currently.
