I play on max graphics, DX 12, with AA set to Ultra. In DC the game looks amazing. The contrast between areas of grass and areas of concrete look authentic. The lighting also looks phenomenal. Logged into WoNY today for the first time and I must say, compared to DC, NY just doesn't look quite the same as far as graphics is concerned. Things look as if they were painted onto the scenery. The garbage for example looks as if it was painted on the street it lies in. The lighting off the buildings looks completely flat and unnatural. Is anyone else noticing the difference? I'm using the latest NVIDIA drivers released specifically for WoNY.
I would venture a guess that the graphics quality comes down slightly be cause of the density of buildings. A lot more in each scene to manage from a 3d graphics perspective. I would also guess that the garbage is actually textures this time around because that way they don't accidentally forget to define a trash bag as something you can walk through -- which results in invisible walls and such.
There are also a lot more things going on in each battle.
I could understand if the game looked like this in a lower graphical setting. But, Ultra is Ultra. In DC when set to Ultra the buildings look almost photo realistic, the foliage blends well with the location its in, and areas where trash is present blend well with the actual scene. In WoNy the buildings look as if they were made of cardboard. Almost all are shaded in the color. Trinity Church looks as if it was made out of cement blocks. Overall, the open world in WoNY looks nothing like its DC counterpart. This off-course could change in an upcoming update, but, for the moment it is a serious downgrade in quality when paired next to DC.Originally Posted by tcarlisle2012 Go to original post
