Greetings Riders,

Trials Rising has just had it’s first anniversary and to help mark this special occasion the Trials France community has something very special planned for us! We recently spoke with Chaaampy to gain all the juicy details you need to know. Without further ado, Chaaampy, let us know what you guys have been working on?

“Like we did back in the days for the second anniversary of Trials Fusion, we're working on the French DLC II. We'll be releasing many tracks, all at the very same time. This "French Invasion" will come by the end of the month, during the 28/29th. Those tracks will be from easy to extreme, except for one which is a ninja track”

How did this idea for a big French ‘DLC’ come about?

“Well I did not remember who exactly had that idea of that DLC, but I believe it came from several guys like me, Psyhodelik and other riders, especially builders. We wanted to celebrate the anniversary of our website (1 year) and of Fusion (2 year)”. Chaaampy goes on to say “But the name of the ‘DLC’ came after that track spamming, like a joke, we did not planned to call it like that! RedLynx also changed the Trials Fusion homepage and posted a photo of the "Track Central French Invasion" on the social medias”.

Can you tell us more about the track builders involved?

“There are 10 builders involved in this project”. As Chaaampy shares the list of builders, we instantly recognize the builders taking part in the ‘French Invasion’ “Myself, Chaaampy (XB1), Bcraft128 (PC), Kailiman (XB1), Steph59 (XB1), Katin (XB1), kronenb (XB1), Pwaro (XB1), Danlem14 (PS4), ramchandra6 (XB1), Tekila (XB1) and the two team building accounts, TrialsFR203 (XB1 - 2 builders), Trials France (XB1 - 5 builders) and AlCappuccino808 (XB1 - 2 builders)”. We stop and ask roughly how many tracks can fellow riders expect to play through in the French DLC drop? Chaaampy replies “Around 20, maybe more if we're lucky!”

We assume as a track builder yourself you will be contributing something to this. Can you give us a little tease of what you are working on?

“For sure!” sounding excited “I’m actually working on 2 tracks. [X] Terminus will take place in a subway station. It's an extreme / technical track, with a kind of urban / punk environment. The second one, [X] Kanso is a hard track. Longer than the first track, it takes place in some Japanese snowy environment. There are some temples, villages etc”. That not all Chaaampy has planned for us “I’m also working on 2 other tracks with the Trials France team. [TFR] Cold Valley, an extreme one taking place in a ... snowy valley, and [TFR] French Trip II, the sequel of French Trip, released for the first French DLC. This one is a 50 checkpoints ninja track with five different themes (factory, sewers, nature, castle, beach)”.

Is there anything you are really looking forward to playing from your fellow French builders?

“Sure! Some of my favourite builders are actually French, and they're not my favourites because they're my friends” Chaaampy jokes, “but because they're building some dope tracks. I’m thinking about guys like Pwaro, kronenb, Kailiman, ramchandra or Katin. But I’m also curious to see the other tracks, particularly those ones built by some guys who were not in the first French DLC!”

The French community has been strong presence in the Trials community for many years, what’s it like running the Trials France community forums?

“It's actually pretty easy and rewarding. I was just a contributor back in the days, on the very first forums, but then I had to re-build a new one, so I got to be more involved than I was before. But I was not alone, many people helped me to manage it, and the community is pretty respectful Everyone is here to help or just to chill, so me and the other moderators are not living a hard life about this”.

What do you think it is that brings people together in the Trials France community?

“At the very first, the language” Chaampy starts laughing. “The French community is pretty huge, but many guys are not really comfortable with English, so we used to talk about Trials a very long time ago on some French forums, on one of the biggest video game related French website. Then, Trials Fusion came and we launch our first website, fully dedicated to Trials, which was of course a better place for us. Then this website been shut down for some reasons, and I had to re-built another one, better than the one we had before. So today we're having our website, which is permanently developed by myself. You can find some videos on it, news, tutorials, a wiki, a forum of course ... and the best thing is that we own those things, it's built and owned by the community”.

“I also think that many of the French members have been involved in this game for a long time. Ninjas, speedrunners, builders ... many of them are really dope, and it's actually really cool to see some really good players coming from your country, you want to be like them! And people see that guys like me or Psyhodelik are a part of the Trials Elite program, and Ubisoft Star Player as well, it's another way to get French members involved in the franchise”.

Thanks for answering these questions! Before we wrap it up is there anything else you’d like to share about the French community, the French DLC or the Trials community in general?

“The Trials community is one of the best in the world because of its variety, there are many people, young and less young, from different countries, which are doing different jobs, and they're all together because they actually love this franchise. Almost all those members are pretty helpful between each other. Since this is a pretty small community, barely everyone knows each other, it helps to bring people together. And it's pretty much the same with the French community, which is of course smaller than the whole community, but still involved for a very long time. Anyone can come on the forums to say hi or to ask anything, there will always be someone to welcome them”.
