Sounds like you just need a more effective build. Admittedly, any build tips now are somewhat pointless with WoNY and Gear 2.0 on the way, but...I'd suggest having a look at some different skills, such as the stationary turret or attack drone, which can hold down an area and/or distract enemies while you reposition to flank. My personal favorite is the cluster seeker mines, which are great for thinning out mobs and forcing enemies out of cover where I can finish them off with my AR before they get anywhere near me.Originally Posted by MAH132 Go to original post
Damage to Elites has been a must-have stat up until this point for dealing with those "yellow bar bosses", but it's going away in Gear 2.0, so we'll see what happens there.
Basically, I'd say, if you haven't already given up on the game again, wait until Tuesday when all the big gear changes will happen, then try putting something together that will give you better survivability. I'm sure within a day or two, there will be a slew of YouTube videos explaining the new system and how to put together different builds for different situations.
So, all of you given advice about builds, that's not the OP's issue.
What the OP is describing is that, at endgame, many scenarios involve the player stuck inside a small arena with a large number of rushing NPCs, being bombarded with grenade/drone spam, which I myself find annoying, more specifically for me, the ends of DARMA labs and the zoo (occupied or not), to the point that I don't do them anymore, not because I can't finish them, but again, because I find them annoying.
Now, that is my personal choice, my personal taste, and I don't care why people stop playing either![]()
In a roundabout way it is. If he had a relatively decent build he would not be chased out of cover. He'd be able to hunker down and shoot fish in a barrel, which is incidentally what those encounters are.Originally Posted by III_Hammer_III Go to original post
At most the only valid complaint any decently geared player *might* have is trigger-finger cramp.
Yes, the OP reads in a way that says "I expect to not put in the effort to understand the game, gear, progression, battle tactics, and still do well".
To be fair, not everyone wants to really put that kind of effort into each game. I never bothered to understand the whole building thing in Fornite, and still I carry a huge opinion on that game which I will throw around any chance I get. LOL.
But if I were to go into Fortnite forums and try to criticize the game, well, that might not go over so well.
If you want to enjoy this game and get more out of it, there have been a lot of replies that tell you how to proceed. And there are a lot of people here that will help you any way they can. But if you decide this game just isn't your cup of tea, that is OK too.

I don't know, I mean that sounds like a really good game..Originally Posted by MAH132 Go to original post
it's not fun when things get too relaxing.. It's fun when there is no time to relax..
Myself,I love when it gets really heavy like that.. I start storming the fort because i get over excited in solo sometimes and want to just Rambo and John Wick everything down..lol
I just think how far games have come and can bring such excitement..
I feel you. When the game launched it really did feel like a legit cover shooter, even in pvp. Then people complained about not being able to survive pve encounters and everybody became tanky.
Game went down hill after that. End game cover mechanics are a joke too as the pve enemies still spam the heck out of nades and rc cars and mortars.
And pvp people are too tanky while still cranking out insane amounts of damage.
Thylander said all that is changing in wony so we shall see.
