Now I remember why I stopped playing this game.

Through the main story: Here, here is a nice little tactical cover shooter to mess around with. It’s fun, and can be challenging as you progress through world tiers.

Endgame content: That cover shooter you got used to, yeah that’s not really what this game is you need to scramble like a madman constantly while protecting a small open area for a given period of time because EVERYTHING will chase you out of any tiny little piece of cover you can find, especially the bullet sponge yellow bar bosses.

Care to be more specific? Which mission is troubling you? Or in other words....show me on the map where the bad man touched you.

A large Damage to Elites % on your mask & the Hard Hitting talent on any piece of gear are your friends. For two more days anyway.

The rest is down to tactics and putting together an optimized build. Specify your platform and perhaps someone can group with you to give you some pointers.

So you want to sit in the same piece of cover the whole time and act like grenades and flanking are not a thing? The game is already ridiculously easy... I mean they killed the difficulty because of feedback like this. If you have a solution that does not ruin the difficulty, and offers more cover based realism, make it. If you are just here to complain that you can't do the exact same things you did on easier difficulty..... WTF?

I do agree that the game is very easy, even killing (armored) elites can be done with only few hits. People that play with high armor values usually tend to take a bit longer as their weapons don't do much damage as opposed to firepower builds. Mine only focus on firepower to make fast kills and move on to next one. Having said this, I also agree with OP that sitting in cover makes you an easy target. For this reason I barely use it myself, but it makes 'cover based' shooter sound a bit silly. It would have been better if you could move around using cover and not have AI know where you are all the time. And yes, elites do rush to players if don't kill them quickly, and they can down a player really fast too. There is no protection, healing drone, or armor swap that can save you. So make sure you kill them before they can actually do damage to you, works best for me.

whenever i use RIfles.. i find I am scrambling.. but that's bc i have terrible aim using them.
Got to adapt to the game then.. that's what upcoming WONY and seasons, Leaderboards will bring. You will play the same content but differently (approaches). It might take you time to get there but if you stick to it you can get better. Try doing things outside of your comfort zone a little.

    Bullet-Spongy?

    Hahahahaha hahaha

It’s all you, OP, it’s all you.......

There’s a reason there is gear progression. Cannot be picking big boy fights dressed in a pumpkin suit.

maybe cover based shooter means putting cover in between you and the threat, not sitting in one piece of cover each stage of a mission?

Yep, I've certainly found that out the hard way. I quit playing for awhile to play other games, but started again last week and got into WT2 with a lot better gear. Managed to get my GS up to 320-ish. Anybody know what the minimum GS is for the new content coming?

I don’t seem to have the same issues you guys do. Cover is definitely viable, you just need to perform cover to cover moves and be willing to use it. Cover shooter doesn’t mean staying in one spot like a rock.

As for the enemy knowing where you are, you CAN mislead them and make them lose track of you. You need to suppress them and/or make them duck behind cover. Once that happens you can break line of sight and ambush them from another angle.

Only 2 enemies always know where you are: Rushers and heavies. They do not use cover and always track you. They have high awareness values compared to others.

I think if you are having these issues, you should try the turret and practice with different weapons that provide fire superiority. You will see some differences in AI behavior.
