Testing grounds changes
So from what i heard and saw these proposed new changes overall have been getting rather mixed opinions. The point of these changes was to make sure that you weren't forced to be defensive by the other player. constantly parrying your stuff.
While on paper to me that sounded amazing since I've lately been fighting absolute parry lords that parry my lights no matter the speed and keep me outta stamina constantly
forcing me into their 50/50 mixups, especially so with Highlander and Raider since they have decent bait attacks and very high oos punishes. But I don't think they way they tried to fix this is in any way shape or form ideal. First of all: Why make none of the heroes hit hard anymore ? Was this to fix their high light punishes ? Well it certainly solves the issuse but now it looks dumb as hell when some weapons do the same amounts of dmg (For example huge *** axe vs. lil sickles).
I think better way would be just to nerf some of the biggest damage heavies down a bit for example Raiders side heavies to like 35 or something. Or maybe have a special reduction applied when you get parried so certain attacks do way less damage then they would if they hit you from neutral.
Now for the lights. I think unifying (I hope i wrote this right lol) the attack numbers for all heroes is stupid. It takes away a bit of their uniquness as a hero. The way it should have always been is that lights get damage depending on their speed and other special qualities such as hyperarmor, undodgeable, doesn't interupt chain upon getting blocked, stun,
etc. Meaning that the slower the light the more damage it would do (600ms=18dmg) and faster attacks would of course get less (400ms=14dmg). But if the attack has one of the mentioned extra quailities the damage would be adjusted accordingly. For example 600ms light with hyper armor would do 16dmg or 400ms light with undodgeable would do 12.
I appreciate if you managed to read through all the text, since my writing style isn't all that nice to read, but I was still hoping to write something helpful or at least make some people think more about this since I think if the these changes were added to the regular game it would ruin it for me and many other players. If you feel like you want to add something it would be much appreaciated, especially from more casual players who played a bit of the testing grounds themselves since I don't have that much time in it yet.
