Testing Grounds Feedback and Sugestions For Honor

Im Grandmaster in for honor, so I know what I'm talking about.

These changes will unbalance the game,
If these changes will pass, then console players will just instinct because of light spam.

I've played about a dozen rounds of 1v1. I absolutely hate the speed and damage changes. The timing is fine as it is, giving players even less time to block is just frustrating. It will not bring more players, but will chase away the ones you have. I fought a few gladiators during those rounds, and it was pretty much impossible to parry their light spam, hell it was hard to even block the light opener and definitely the light chain switching direction.

If you want to help promote offense more, all you need to do is reduce the stamina drain from every damn thing. Feints should not cost so much stamina (why any at all?), getting your heavy blocked should not cost so much stamina, and characters that can hit you for health AND stamina need to pick a lane - health OR stamina not both. What makes the game boring is running out of stamina in three damn strikes - these are hero class warriors, they should have more endurance.

Make for honor free to play if you want more players.

Stop the nerf to the lawbringer.

    You screwed the game really

Making 100% read on all moves is so unbelievable and the game even is not that fun anymore,,, the main reason i play this is game because it is fun,, it is fun to make a deflect,, parry,, these kind of stuff that give me the thril,,, now i cant even block the light spamm anymore,, i play console and literally i get lighted to death,, what the fun in that,,, i agree 100% that the game should be a mix of reads and reacts,, making a game only reads makes it unplayable or only reacts makes it boring,,, i believe if you make only certain attacks in each charachter based only on reads and other moves based on reacts,, this makes it interesting and you have to mix these 2 things in your gameplay,, i believe to only reduce the stamina cost not removing all of it if you want to target the game to be more offensive,,,please remove this sarcasm and get back our game.

I agree for the most part my friend. Only thing is that stamina damage is fine as is... in my opinion that is. Also, I've been playing since closed beta.

I didn't get a chance to mess with the "read vs react mechanic" too much, but the stamina changes I really like. I fully agree with the OP on his assessment that stamina is a big part of why offense is gimp in For Honor, the other part is that pursuing offense is so heavily punished by dodge attacks and parries, so those might need looked into. The testing ground changes to stamina and recovery are super good, and feels good, its a step in the right direction. The "read vs react" may still need assessment based on what others are saying.

On one hand, I like those changes the developers made, I think it's a right path to take, all that's needed now is tweaks to make it fit the game better, here and there, on some characters and so on ; you get the point.

On the other hand, I don't think it is useful to go all "im a pro i know my **** lol **** you Ubi" right now, remember the guardbreak change in S1 and all the drama that occurred ? Let's keep testing, let's try to get the hang of it and let's see where the devs want to take us, I'm sure it'll end up being better, just like the early GB changes. I suppose OP is strictly talking about console, in which case I have no idea on how those recent changes would affect console, but on PC it's more smooth than ever.

Absolutely agree with everything you've said.

I've only watched a few high-end youtubers playing on testing ground, like KingMisty, and from what I can see, I cannot understand how increased speed is supposed to promote predictability, nor reduce the player's reactive dexterity during duels, as Ubisoft wants to achieve. If any, this will further INCREASE the demand of dexterity of each single player.

Leave the speed as it is, decrease stamina cost, reduce the time between attacks to maintain a chain to prevent purposely delayed attacks, and reduce the window-time to feint an attack. This will promote predictability, as Ubisoft wishes. Not forwarding the speed to x 2.
