Rework to steal gain 2020 suggestion

I'm not here to complain at the current rate of steel gain because I know that with the current system it's possible to earn steel steadily enough to afford whatever execution, emote or armor type and so forth one needs for their character.

However, I think it may be time to consider upping what players get per match. Consider the following:

    A) executions cost 5000 low, 7000 high each.
A.1) the cost of emotes can start as low as 3000, then 5000, then cap at 7000 each.
A.2) signatures and effects cost 5000 a each
    A.3)

    B) the cost of changing armor at the legendary tear is roughly 400 or higher depending on the rarity if the cosmetic one is switching to.
B.1) the cost of upgrading gear starts at around 220 steal and goes up by about 10 with each consecutive upgrade.
B.2) the cost of refining gear starts at 400

    C) the cost of material starts at 6000, and continues upward to 7,8,9 and 10000 at the highest.
    C.1) ornaments cost 1000, 3000 and 5000 each.
C.2) outfits cost anywhere from 1000 to upwards of 20000.

Now take all this into consideration while we do some quick math (if my numbers are off feel free to correct me.)

Say I want to pick up a new character and deck them out in at least one of each thing.

Assuming that I wait until I have legendary gear, with the ideal perks fit for my gameplay, before I begin upgrading my gear, and assuming I already know what I want my hero to look like, we'll operate under the assumption that I'll only ever max out gear completely one time for each peace and then change it once to match my ideal look.

Total for all six pieces of gear (and again, ball park figures here) would cost 24,000 steel to completely upgrade. Then the cost of changing the look of each piece of gear brings it to 26,400 steel.

So that covers gear. Then to buy one of each execution, emote, signature and effect, let's assume I save up to get my character something nice in each category. The cost would run up, operating at the high end, to 31,000 steel. That now brings out total to 57,400 steel.

Moving now to ornaments and material. For the purpose of this scenario I'm going to omit the cost of all other materials besides white iron, as the others can be unlocked by leveling up. We'll also skip embossing for the same reason.

For a nice ornament and the white iron material, the cost adds up to 15000. We're now at 72,400.

Last but not least, outfits. Once again, rollin high to look fly. 20,000. We are just shy of the big hundo at a teeth grinding 92,400 steel.

This is all for one of each available item that cannot otherwise be unlocked for a single character.

There are 26 characters. So to completely customize each character in the game, for the completionists out there, if I knew exactly what I wanted from each hero, and omitted things like changing my mind about a look, accidently upgrading the wrong piece of gear, buying the wrong cosmetic, and so forth, the total cost becomes a whopping 2,402,400.

Scaling back down we'll stay focused on getting that one character.

The average steel gain per dominion match, which is the most commonly played gamemode, is about 50-60 steel depending on performance. The highest amount of steel you can get from the daily contracts is 500 but we'll go ahead and add up this weeks contract totals.

The total amount for completing all contracts this week was 1650.

So assuming that that's the exact amount I can get in a day, with some contracts taking up to six matches to complete, let's assume that I complete every contract while playing dominion, every game was a victory, and I'm onto of everything being MVP in every single game. I can earn a total of 2010 steel over the course of 6 matched.

Sometimes contracts dont reset for at least 48 hours, so for me to earn another 2010, I'd have to wait two days, meanwhile the daily contracts alone provide 800 steel.

Dont worry gamers, we're almost home

NOW, let's say the contracts start fresh on a Sunday, and the timer resets to 48 hours every single time. Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday I can earn 2010 steel, while Monday, Wednesday and Friday I can only earn 800 steel. In a week that means I can make 10,440 steel.

So at 10,440 steel a week, not including games in between contracts, it would take me just shy of 9 weeks (the literal calculation came out to about 8.85) to completely kit out 1 hero with the best possible gear and cosmetics.

I'm not asking for much, but at this stage in the game, with all the content we have at our disposal, it's getting to be a colossal gap to cross. Decrease these prices and increase steel gain per match. Rework the contracts and for all that is lovely in the world do it now. If anything do it for the sake of us completionists out here who like to switch it up from time to time. That is all, thank you.

I'd love this, but it won't happen. Steel packs are the only thing that keeps the game going, dollar wise. So they have to keep things expensive.

And the flaw here OP is that you used dominion as an example.
The cash(or steel) in this game (contracts exluded) is all in breach vs ai. 80-90 steel on an offensive win, defense dont matter cuz if you cant win it before the fist gate is breached you have a bad team. (and it goes even faster on defensive if you have banner exploiters)

If you take away the contracts that cannot be completed in breach(1v1/2v2 wins/executions, dominion capping), by playing only breach vs ai you will gain alot of steel on a weekly basis provided you play 2-3H each day of the week. Infact the steel rewards are soo high that even if you pay 3500 steel for a 1 week premium account, by day 7 you should have a profit of 7-8k steel if you do 5-6 contracts everytime they are avalible.

According to my psn profile i spendt 700H+ in FH last year, 95% of that time was in breach vs ai.
Allways running a prem account as i played last year, i bought in totalt only 3x 10k steel packs. I have 20 fighters at pres 8, allmoust all of them with 3 perks and the visual style i want, plus minimum of 1 signature and 2 executions on each. while i did pay rl cash for Y3 fighters, i did not for the Y1 fighters, so that is additional 60k steel.
How many scavaged crates for steel i have bought in order to get the right armor combo to get 3 perks i have no idea of.

Did i use ingame sales like the big one last summer when everything in the game was on a discount? ofc i did. I would say about 40% of my signatures, executions and ornaments was bough from sales.

Point here is: Steel is avalible in buckets, you just have to play more breach vs ai.

That makes perfect sense if breach is a popular gamemode, or even breach vs AI, though either because of where I'm at or the fact that I'm on PC (and I heavily suspect the latter) breach isn't very popular. It comes and goes with certain contracts but it's almost always low activity and to find one game often takes me about 6-12 minutes.

So even if I did follow your example and play exclusively breach vs AI, the amount of time it would take me to get that initial 80-90 steel wouldn't be worth it. By the time I finish one breach match I could probably finish at least 3 dominion matches.

I'm not speaking so much as to how much steel is being made but rather the cost of all the customizable items and the cost of progression per hero. With 26 heroes each with seemingly endless combinations of look and playstyle configuration, with the time it takes to earn the steel to purchase it, is severely skewed.

At the very least, the cost of everything needs to start going down. Especially content that's been here since day one. If I had to recommend any kind of reform towards prices it would be to scale the cost of anything based on how long it's been available. Executions from year one should less expensive than ones from year 4. Same with everything else like emotes, signatures, effects, and ornaments and such.

That and probably reduce the cost to upgrade and refine and change the look of gear. For 400 steel to change the look or refine my gear, that's half of what I earn in a daily challenge. So for that maybe double the amount the contracts give, or reduce the cost by half.

And if prices are firm and wont change. Then the only thing left to do is increase the steel gain. I should be able to take the winnings from at least 6 games and do more than upgrade a single piece of armor.

That's more or less of where my gripe comes from

Ouch, that sounds as a platform problem, i did not know pc was that bad.
I have never ever seen breach fall under high popularity in eu tz where i am, both for pvp and vs AI regardless of time of the day on ps4.
