So, i was really looking forward to the star bonus scheme as a chance to get some of those more rare items (resource gems, myrmidon spear, ritualistic sword, etc) that are not really given out or are very hard to obtain. But one again, I've been let down by the dev team (I guess I shouldn't be shocked at this point).
Purple cubes and helix cred is ok, but very accessible other place. And DEFINITELY not worth the effort you have to put into earning stars. ran the numbers and not worth playing. An definitely not playing for cash and codex, that's a total waste (total fail on that).
maybe they'll fix it, but probably not. major opportunity lost...
You're right. The rewards are disappointing. They can be obtained elsewhere easily. The return value on pursuing them makes pursuing them worthless. However, we are no worse off than we were before the star bonus. Just ignore it as a useless game mechanic. Be happy they are TRYING something. Maybe it will get better. Maybe it will stay the same. But we are no worse than we were yesterday.
Bunny I appreciate you always being on top of this stuff. I think there are two issues with the Star rewards from what other have been saying. 1) the math doesnt add up. Helix credits are wonderful. We all want them. But a maximum of 100 isnt worth the effort. I'm simply doing the grandmaster tier and ignoring the star rewards. Most others seem to be doing the same based on comments. That rewards us a total of 10 helix credits and 1/25 if the needed cubes for a roll (even then they will most likely all be database credits). 2) the star rewards need to be completed for every tier. Given the short window for how long it is open, we are forced to choose between competing between ranking up or star rewards. Getting a higher rank has higher rewards so there is really no reason to do the star route (ie beat every tier). It would make sense that if a person completed a tier with all stars in its entirety then all lower tiers would be retroactively completed too.Originally Posted by ACR_Bunny Go to original post
When this was first announced in the thread about the February sequence I asked a very direct question that may have come off rude but I believe is 100% appropriate and the Dev team should always be asking themselves, "As a player, why should I care about this?" We appreciate the effort but the reward is so minimal that the answer here is we shouldn't care. This appears to be another innovation for the sake of innovation.
I personally would rather see the implementation of the suggestions players have been making from the beginning before any other expansions or updates. 1) give us a use for database credits that is sustainable and interesting. 2) take away the blue icons, or at least give us the option to toggle them off. 3) Fill out the rest of the rooms. There was clearly a reason that that number of room slots was chosen. Give us those rooms and show us what it is. 4) Tier 5 weapons and gear for all legendary and epic characters. To be clear I would personally like all of these before Edward Kenway (my personal favorite character and one I really am looking forward to) is implemented. The dev team should always ask "as a player why should I care about this." For the last many updates, the answer is they shouldn't and as a result activity has drastically diminished.
Thank you again for being attentive; however, if our suggestions continue to be listened to without action that is worse than not listening in the first place. I just want this game to be as good as it can be. Not trying to be a jerk
Thanks Bunny, that's good to hear.Originally Posted by ACR_Bunny Go to original post
There is a similar post on Feature Requests. I made the suggestion of putting a new piece of 5* gear in as the top reward, only available to obtain through the top star rewards of an event. That would see a great many players investing their time and helix into getting there. Just an idea!
