I don't like RL's viewpoint of less rewards for less theme options. I never liked it. I would rather get more rewards for all themes than less rewards for 1 specific theme. Not only does this help keep options open, but it helps me level up cards I wouldn't normally for things like challenges and team wars.
The only people benefiting from theme specific packs are whales. Because they can afford to buy these packs and get those 5 epics and 4 legendaries. Meanwhile, I am quite content getting rewards for themes I don't primarily use if it means more rewards. On top of that, my main account actually utilizes all themes. I am able to make a competitive deck with any theme currently in the mid 7k. On top of THAT, if it's theme specific rewards for a theme I am less likely to use, not only will I be angry about the decreased rewards but I will be angry that it's for a theme I don't care much for and will make me much more likely to skip event participation.
6 Themes 150 cards
5 Themes 125 cards
4 Themes 100 cards
3 Themes 75 cards
2 Themes 50 cards
1 Theme 25 cards
Which reward do you think I would be most happy with? If you think I would be most happy with the bottom choice just because the cards are theme specific, think again. Nobody who plays this game feels like that reward is the most valuable. Because besides adventure locked (which is nearly extinct now), nobody plays just 1 theme.
As a loyal.player since day 1 and a legendary arena player i feel betrayed. i have supported this company with my active play style and financially. However if they choose to begin nerfing rewards as opposed to dealing with game breaking hackers...idk......the hacker should have been 100% number 1 priority and cleaning his mess and then explaining to us how he broke in and how it's been fixed. My financial contributions ended the day the mbp hacker started revealing himself on YouTube channels and now its just ridiculous.....an update about the hacker would have been more appropriate....i mean do you realize pokemon go just released pvp mode????? Your competing against games like that and you have a hacker tearing your game apart and you choose to nerf rewards???? If you want money I made a thread about adding a new survival/swarm pve mode. You already have levels against enemies and as a former game designer I know it wouldnt be hard to incorporate this into the game. It would also allow youtube content creators to make new content and bring new and old players into the game. Im so annoyed at the lack of communication between this companys dev team and their fan base.....i really believed in you guys but this is the wrong direction to take the game...nerfing rewards and attacking your high lvl players the player base that has been the most loyal to this point.....
The logic in the reward change is all wrong. I can only assume you were struggling to come up with a way to justify this change and this is the best you could do. This will only increase the disparity between those who spend unhealthy amounts of money on this game and those who don't.
Selling what is, in essence, a gambling fix in packs of cards costing $30 to $60 is disgusting and, frankly shameful.
Besides, after the start of the post you lost all credibility with me, you throw your team under the bus then try to take the blame for the communication issue. News flash, that just makes you look like a ****** while still being at fault. Go spend a couple bucks you scammed off people with impulse control issues and take a few management courses.
Ubi toller and ubi buck your not going to have much to do pretty soon if you guys dont raise a red flag to the dev team about the nerfing of rewards. If this is a money issue I can guarantee profits have plummeted due to #1 the hacker...#2 I have and others have asked for more pve content and I have even given you a great new idea for a new mode. This alone would generate the profit you need but if the dev team nerfs rewards its going to have extremely negative consequences. Top priority atm...hacker hacker hacker hacker deal with hacker...restore faith in community...do not balance anything...do not nerf rewarfs...listen to your community...in my case i can at the very least tell you that I am a co leader of a silver clan that has very upset players talking about quitting. So please don't see me and then other people on here as 1 person most likely just as I am representing my clan the Hobo Stonerz others are doing the same.
Very respectfully
I thought the scaling structure was in place due to the grind to get the higher level cards? When it takes nearly 500 copies of one epic card, to get to level 6 and you have about 30 epics in the game (more added all the time) and when you're a f2p player you get an average of 5-10 epics a week? It's going to be next to impossible to level these cards. There is really no incentive to try and level the cards past 4 anyway bc the Stat increase is trash.
Lets not even get into legendaries.
Do you honestly believe that a new player wants to look at this daunting task of upgrades and wants to continue playing the game? When I was a new player 2 years ago I almost didn't continue once I saw the time commitment. Now there's almost double the cards as there were then. THAT'S the problem. New people are put off by the grind. Which is not fun. And the lack of an endgame.
We love the new content, keep it coming, but with that there needs to be more creative ways of earning things. The game hasn't had anything new added in 8 months as far as game play is concerned. The last substantial game change was team wars a year ago. A new card isn't going to cut it anymore. It dilutes the reward pool and combined with these decreased drop rates and mats high level players might get to use them in 6 months? Probably longer bc they are already working on something else.
The grind has to be adjusted as well if you are going to decrease cards and mats received.
My take is you just moved the goal with no warning, and the justification doesn't add up.
Why not ask for ideas to solve this? There are a lot of people who have creative ways to solve this problem. There's no promise that you need to take our suggestions, but it's free feedback. Ask this awesome community for help. It's our game too right?
This is a great analysis @Ubisoft - please take it to heartOriginally Posted by moses2303 Go to original post

This is and has always been exactly the matter with this game! The game is designed such that higher level cards are in all way better than lower level versions of the same card. So the only way for a F2P player to really compete is to grind until they can upgrade their cards to max level. This is a perfectly fine game loop and common in many F2P. However, if it takes years (and decades in the case of legendary cards), then the grind is hopeless. It's a fundamental game design flaw! It's also game design 101 and Ubisoft would know this and could fix this with 5 minutes of code (massively increase card drop rates or massively reduce the card upgrade requirements).
I'm not interested in being all pissy. I get the rationale, But the honest fact is that weekend events, after a year and a half of grinding, are honestly not all that fun to do anymore especially the token events (the card usage is still really fun). And the rewards are just not that great to grind for. Now that they are worse to grind for, I just have to believe that if others feel the same way I do that weekend participation will go way down. I'm not even mad about the unfairness, if it's even unfair, I just don't know that I care to play weekend events if the rewards go down, since the rewards were already not that great. I'm scared to say this because of what I think the dev team will do with it, but with most legendary players being on silver and gold teams for team wars, it feels bad for the weekend events when your team wars pack is better than your entire weekend worth of rewards
