As many of you noticed, the event rewards in last weekend’s Tweek x Craig card use event were lower than previous events. This change is part of a larger event rebalance that is in the works. It shouldn’t have gone live without any prior communication. I’m not a fan of that and I know you aren’t either. The internal communication around the subject was happening when I was out sick last week, so, unfortunately, it slipped passed me without getting communicated to all of you. I’ll take the blame for that. It’s not how I want things to happen, as most of you know, I aim to be as transparent with all of you as possible. So, for that, I apologize.
So, what changed and why?
This specific event featured two new cards, so the event rewards were focused on giving out guaranteed copies of those new cards. That’s not necessarily new, but we want to have events that have more focused rewards, instead of just random rewards from the whole loot pool (which is continuously growing). We also introduced the ability to choose your reward theme for the Mission event type, which gives you the ability to focus your rewards around the theme(s) you like most. Lastly, we’re also planning on having a varying range of difficulty for events, with rewards that match the difficulty. This could mean that the rewards will change from event to event. For example: We could have a ‘hard’ 24-hour event, that requires much more effort than a normal 24-hour event, but the last pack would guarantee a legendary card and we could have an ‘easy’ weekend event, that gives PvP tickets instead of materials and cards. (These are of course just some examples)
We’re also working on phasing out/eliminating the ‘scaling’ reward structure we introduced previously. While it’s not completely gone yet, we are planning to remove it. This means that the rewards will need to be rebalanced to provide good value for lower leveled players and still provide value to higher leveled players.
Currently, players in the Legendary arena get a much larger chunk of rewards from events, while also earning season reset packs every month AND Team Wars rewards every week. This ends up being such a large disparity between the new players and the rest of you, that it’s unsustainable in the long term and for the overall health of the game, these changes needed to be made.
While sudden change is often hard to accept, I hope this explanation helps you all understand the reasoning behind these changes and gives you a little insight into what the team's goal is with this.

I expected it was mistake :-D so naive i was after open rewards, your fist messages :-) But.
I belive nobody is buying this crap :-D we are not blind (you cant convince daily players to belive that after 2 years)
So you just nerfed mats, cash. Or had it in plan. just waited and hoped nobody mark it :-D - thats sounds like true.(whatever reason of nerfs)
I dont blame you (only if you did not make the decision :-) )
I can't begin to express how disappointing this is. You're talking about a reduction in rewards for all your longest playing players. You understand that the requirements to use cards in legendary are quite high, right? If you reduce the rewards while keeping that high bar (lv4-5 epic, lv3-4 legendary) then you're pretty much saying that the only way to use new cards will be to open up those wallets wide and whale out.
I've been passionate about this game for a long time and very much want to keep going, but this is a kick in the teeth man. I'll for sure be shopping around for new games if this is the chosen direction, and based on the crapstorm I'm seeing right now on discord, I know I'm not the only one.
Make it right Buck.
Thank you for the clarification.
However, this is a very, very, disappointing change for legendary players. Especially, the coins and cash nerf are hard to swallow.
1. Good to know that we will get more "new cards" in their dedicated events. However, it makes little difference as they are not competitive in PvP when you are in mid/high legendary. It does not matter if you have wonder tweek lv1 or lv4, you need to have lv5-lv6 rares. Same story with commons as they are not playable (with very few exceptions like BEB)
2. The card scaling system makes even less sense now with the rewards nerf. You need 18'505 coins to get an epic from max lv4 to max lv5. This becomes an insane amount for a small increase of stats if coins become a more scarce resource
3. It takes away the fun of Team Wards of investing in non-meta cards. Why would you spend 27'310 coins to level up a common to lv6 (e.g., pigeons, sally,...) just for a team war if you don't have enough coins to level up your main PvP deck
In short, buffing the rewards for low ranking player is a good idea, but let's face it : your change will not solve the fact that a new player will not be able to catch up with players who have been playing for 2+ years.
In the meantime, you are just killing the fun/interest of events, challenges and TvT for your most loyal players.
Two things.
1. Legendary rewards were an incentive to help with deranking. If I'm going to get the same rewards either way, I'm taking my lvl 4 legendaries down to 5500 so I can finish events easier.
2. The game has been successful because there is no pay wall. It will take you more time and energy to get level 4 legendaries, but it's still possible. If the battlepass is going to become a pay wall because enough cartman cash will need to be bought, the F2P or mostly F2P players that make up around 80% of the game are going to stop playing.
why though? I am F2P all reducing the rewards does is make the gap between the whales, and everyone else bigger over time, and then the whales will complain they are taking 20 minutes for a match.
what rewards are we getting extra? i progressed through the tiers and started to reach 8k as F2P... and in 3 seasons I have gained poca randy 5 and now dogpoo 5 as an upgrade, meanwhile I cant play meta because my SMW is at 3/4, and my SH's got nerfed, so can't use those.
what are these extra rewards? you mean the rewards that top players/whales get in tvt because the lower teams can't win (and now lost matchups against players with similar level cards in silver)? and then half the time the packs are just rubbish anyway?
I thought these EOS packs, TvT packs etc were done for this reason... to give lower players a chance to CATCH UP, and now this has been taken away?
as a 7500-8000 player who has really enjoyed this game, i think i will have to quit when i can no longer afford a battle pass every 2 months.
Previously i could collect enough Cartman Cash to fund my next battle pass and have a bit to spare to spend on getting things from lockers. This season was looking touch and go for the first time, and now if you remove/lower the CC from the legend packs then I'm not going to make it.
I think that will be the death knell for me as the game will definitely no longer feel F2P.
