After reading the recent void edge notes https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/r...chnotes-header
I've noticed they've decided to change the only remnant of the original rainbow six.
Quote. "Game Mode Name Change
The Terrorist Hunt playlist will be renamed to Training Grounds to better reflect what our community uses the playlist for. Terrorist Hunt Classic will be renamed to Elimination to more accurately depict the game mode players can expect when entering those games."
Rainbow six is a videogame about a secret joint Counter-terrorism team known as rainbow. they fight against terror wherever it devices. playing against the terrorist group in siege particularly the white masks in this mode. this should not be changed. the game will lose it's last reminder of it's roots. Rainbow Six Siege must not forget where it's names sake.
Fixed it for you. This change does not reflect "the community". It reflects only a subsection of the community. The Terrorist Hunt playlist will be renamed to Training Grounds to better reflect what our THE PRO LEAGUE uses the playlist for
Sorry to have to tell you this ... but the developers don't care about the Rainbow Six legacy. It is only a matter of time before they remove Hostage and Area Defense modes from the game, and then rename the game to "Rainbow Six: Pro League". They don't care about anything but the Pro League at this point. Ranked is just Pro League. Unranked is Ranked Lite. They are in the process of cutting out anything else from the game except Bomb Defuse - Pick and Ban - AAA/DDD matches. And their response to any concerns has universally been that that you either like it or lump it.Rainbow Six Siege must not forget where it's names sake.
Honestly, I dont know why you guys constantly complain about this. Its Pro League's fault for everything apparently. Every little change, every character, every map... dont like it? Blame Pro League..
For Christ's sake get over it already. Either accept that this is the way Rainbow Six Seige is going, or go play something else. It's a successful format with more player participation than ever before. From a business stand point, it's a huge success, so it isnt going to change for you.
Just go play and have fun.
it's just a shame they'll forget what the name "Rainbow Six" represents. i do have fun the game, it's just unfortunate that the games that actually made me get into this genre of gaming is just going to be left forgotten instead of being honored or remembered like it should be.
it's unfortunate, i merely post it here on the forums so that if any actual developer that cares about the lore will see. the game will live on either way. just wished the roots were honored and remembered. otherwise the game would be called something elseOriginally Posted by The_.Riddler Go to original post

Either accept that this is the way Rainbow Six Seige is going, or go play something else.
We started playing Siege because it was the only real tactical shooter on the market. There is not now currently a viable alternative to "go play", and so those of us who played the game and were loyal during its rough patches are displeased because they keep making the game less and less and less of a tactical shooter and more and more and more of a Hero Shooter E-Sport Only product. That's a pretty lousy Bait-And-Switch to pull. It'd be much better if Siege worked to keep its players instead of telling a chunk of them to go pound sand.
And the thing is ... it doesn't have to be this way. They could keep all the things we liked and maintain the legacy of the game and they wouldn't have to sacrifice their precious Pro League to do it. All they would have to do is NOT take away all the stuff they are taking away. Have all the big, blocky "Balanced" maps for the Pro League and Ranked and they're all happy. But let CASUAL have the OPTION to keep the old maps. Create a more tactically based OPTION for gameplay in Casual. Keep Night Maps as an OPTION for Casual. Keep Bombers and Nitros in TH as OPTIONS. They could do all that and everyone would be happy.
And yet every time we voice the concern that they are taking away game features instead of just making them optional, we get a big fat "That's not what the Pro League says they want." Every time we object to what they take away, we get a bogus "Aw shucks ... we had NO IDEA that some of you out there wanted to keep those features because we assumed the Pro League guys we talked to represent all the players."
As in the other threads - you just don't get it. We aren't asking them to "change" anything. All we're asking is for them to NOT CHANGE the things we liked in the first place. Instead they keep taking more and more and more of them away because Pro League Derp Derp Derp! It's a successful format with more player participation than ever before. From a business stand point, it's a huge success, so it isnt going to change for you.
I have fun playing Hostage maps with balanced teams, fair matchmaking, on maps that are realistic representations of real-world places without the obnoxious trappings of Pick & Ban, or the stupid AAA/DDD rotation which have no resemblance to what they're forcing down our throats with their focus in Pro League style matches.Just go play and have fun.
Siege was good until about halfway through year 2, when Themepark came out. That was the start of the decline but it really wasn't noticeable until old hereford got turned into cubist hereford.
It only got worse from there till we get to today where casual is limited to a few craptastic maps and an AA-DD format no one wanted, all the cool stuff you would find throughout maps that you would expect in a real world location got wiped clean and we got the Road to SI event where team rainbow is now a sports team competing on a map which is literally a bunch of cubes stacked on one another.
The only bright spot is Ready or Not's beta coming out in June, because right now the only other semi-realistic shooters are all battle royale bore-fests. https://www.reddit.com/r/ReadyOrNotGame/
bro ready or not is gonna be hella fun when it comes out.Originally Posted by Nick Witucki Go to original post

Have some fun along the way? Sure. But only if first and foremost you are making money.
All your feelings, all the "game lore" being "honored and remembered" is a very distant consideration.
I'm not sure what you guys do for a living, but you wouldnt be doing it if your employer wasnt making money. The game is a success. Maintaining that success is what they talk about....every day... The things that got them this far is what they are going to continue to do.
This game is no longer what you think it should be. We get that. Stop *****ing about it.
