1. Make it shorter
A level system of 30 levels where each level gives you something worthwhile, but which takes longer to reach each new level is infinitely better than 100 levels when you won’t get anything useful most of the time.
2. Make every level count
Right now many levels of the battle pass is pretty much worthless as a level may only give you a single xp boost, a weapon visual (that you may not use), a measly amount of steel or even salvage. Instead, gather the drops into bundles and make each new level actually give the players something that feels like a reward for levelling up.
3. Get rid of salvage
This ties into the second point. Salvage as a drop is worthless.
You’re launching this thing in Y4. Most of your playerbase has been playing this game for a few years. Not only is offering salvage in itself worthless as salvage is extremely easy to come by, you’re offering it on your paid track. People are paying you real money and you’re giving them literally the most worthless thing in the game.
Sure, there is the argument that it could help a new player get their buffer of salvage up quickly. But salvage in this game is so easy to come by that when even a new player will have amassed more than enough gear to scrap when the time comes to upgrade.
4. Change from specific drops to tokens
This ties into the first point, make each step worthwhile.
Leveling up and not getting anything when you’ve paid for the battlepass is insulting. That is what it feels like when you level up and you’re only given a weapon visual or effect for a hero or even faction you don’t play. Even worse, if you're unlucky (and want to main Sun Da) you have to unlock everything for every other hero in the game before you get the one you want.
So change the specific drops to a token that can be redeemed for the hero of the player’s choice.
5. Remove extra step from post-match screen
Skipping the post-match screen is something the community have been vocal about since launch. Since then you’ve added a “skip all” that works about 1% of the time, and now you’ve added another thing to skip after each and every match.
There is no need to have the battle pass meter pop up after every single match. The meter barely moves, we can do nothing with it AND the meter is visible in the top left corner almost always. If we absolutely must have the battle pass progression shoved in our faces, at least limit it to when we’re levelling up, and include it in the skippable notices.
There you go, the solution is on the official forums. If this thread gets enough responses a mod will come around saying something like “I’ll pass it on to the team”. Proving once again that either the forum mods have not contact with the dev team or that the dev team is either unable or unwilling to implement straight improvements to their game.
Agreed on all points. I'll also add:
6) Battle pass weapons should not cost any steel to switch weapon skins to. People have already paid money to unlock these skins, you should not be asking them to further spend steel to use these weapon skins on existing gear.
7) Champion status should be a more frequent unlock on both the free and the premium tracks. There's no reason to be so miserly with some basic XP boosts.
8) Steel rewards should be increased so that it actually feels like a reward. 100 steel every 15-30 levels just feels incredibly underwhelming. The free track should be able to get a total of around 7k steel - enough for a single execution, emote or effect. And the premium track should be able to get a total of 15k, enough for a single mythic outfit or whatever else to spend on.
I disagree on some points but overall think it's a step in the right direction.
1) I disagree completely, I think 100 level is fine. You don't need to grind much to hit 100, simply completing daily orders will get you most of the way there.
2) I agree, the free pass needs a little more fleshing out, even if it's just a few more steel, exp tickets, daily champ status or scavenger crates. The premium needs a lot more, like higher levels of the above, more unique emotes, effects, gear etc and not just earned in faction groups. Split them into character types as well for more variation.
3) Totally agree, it's embarrassing that this was even added.
4) Agree completely, it also stops any issues with duplication drops etc
5) Agreed
6) I disagree with, I have no issues with paying steel to change skins but it should be at a reduced cost, not an increased one.
7) Yes and no, I don't mind it if it doesn't appear more often but it should be for several days rather than 1.
8) I agree.
Things to add ontop of previous comments from myself and others;
Add armour to the pass, not just weapons
Premium pass holders gain more xp in battle or more steel eg 5-10% more per game
New materials for each hero/faction/class
Additional effects and signatures

I don't think pay walling new armours is a smart idea. Call me crazy but locking such highly anticipated content behind a pay wall would enrage the community and rightly so imo. You might as well lock new heroes and hero reworks behind the premium pass while at it. I also don't understand why you would want to pay steel to change to a skin that you have already payed real money for. You're essentially asking for Ubisoft to charge you twice. Once for real money and a second time for in-game currency.Originally Posted by Kryltic Go to original post

I never said put all new armour on the battle pass but addtional ones could be. It doesn't have to be on the premium part either, it would certainly be easy enough to get people trying to unlock them if they have something to look forward to at the end.
