I don't think that should be a problem. You couldn't know in real life which one of those were a fearful conscripted peasants, and which one was an unhorsed knight who are about to take your head if you advance on him. Also, there is the minimap which gives away heroes (excluding assassins, but they rarely go to mid anyway).Originally Posted by UbiFate Go to original post
i disagree. doesn't make sense to have the minions the same size as the heroes especially if they're going down in 1 blow. the playable characters are heroes because they're better than the minions, and as such they should look the part. besides, moving through the minion lane is tedious enough no need to further complicate things.
Going down in one blow doesn't matter. And fighting in a crowd is what those capture points are all about. Making the minons larger would the increase the sense of realism. I have no problem with the arcade feel of this game. Would I have preferred a slower more realistic game, sure, but I truly enjoy it as is and where it seems to be going. But little things like the size of the minons would help increase immersion factor. Hero are great because of their skill not because everyone one else is a dwarf
There's no sense in making a realism argument for anything in this game. That ship sailed upon launch. From a gameplay aspect, it makes sense to have the minions be smaller than most heroes because they are merely there for cannon fodder. The less of your field of view they take up the better because a player's primary focus is in fighting other players in this game, not in fighting PvE hordes like Dynasty Warriors. Assassin heroes with the stealth feat and a low stance while in guard like PK can already blend in with minions. Shaman's slow clap emote completely disguises her in minions.Originally Posted by Blindjackel03 Go to original post
There's simply no gameplay benefit to making minions bigger whereas there is a tangible gameplay logic to having minions be the size that they are right now. There should actually be even less interaction with minions than we have currently. GBing them should not be a thing, neither should getting body blocked by their corpses.
you are missing his point which had nothing to do with realism. We can already with 100% certainty, foretell the negative effects of larger minions. We do not need a testing grounds for this. It is an open and closed shut case. Bigger minions means bigger hit boxes and more nonsense interfering with your situational awareness. There is NO logical reason to scale their size other than for realism/aesthetics.Originally Posted by Blindjackel03 Go to original post
Vakris mentioned 2 sentences about realism and you are the one getting hot and bothered . Realism is a bad argument for game play changes (relative to this game).Since it is the only one you got, there is nothing left for anyone to argue about
