Why is it that I bought a "year one pass" and have to pay for the new DLC in March? I enjoy the game. But this is stupid.

I won't be able to play the DLC until I pay for it..
People who just start playing the game, can now buy it for $3.00.
On top of that if they want the DLC, they can buy it for $30.
New players are paying a grand total of $33.00, and tax for the game and DLC.

To summarize, I'LL PAY $150 TO PLAY THE DLC AND GAME.
NEW PLAYERS WILL PAY $33 TO DO THE SAME.
IS THAT NOT WRONG?
Change this Ubisoft. ADD the new DLC for players who bought the "Year one Pass."
This is ********.
If I am wrong, explain..
I shall explain but first... how many hours have you logged in? Before you ask - the difference is that those who are just "diving in" for $33 received ZERO entertainment value so far - now how about you? If you are wondering where I am going with this... see the movie in theaters or on DVD (simplified, your experience may vary).Originally Posted by HTB-AMERICAN-101 Go to original post
Yes, you pay for the new content of the new year, or you don’t an you get to play at level 30. A lot of people bought the $120 version, some on multiple platforms for multiple people. Point is, whether or not you feel like you got value from your purchase is up to you, but a new expansion is dropping for Year 2 and it’s up to you to decide if you’re coming back to NY with us!
I bought the Ultimate Edition, with the year one pass, last March. Since then I have put in 400 hours into the game. A player that just bought the game would’ve missed out on the opportunity to play the game for the last year. So you, I, and most of us on this forum, paid the premium to be able to play the game when it was released.
I for one have been happy with my time for the game. It is the game I played the most in 2019, and am still continuing to play it. I also bought the DLC as soon as I was able to, and am looking forward to when it releases, and being able to not only play the new missions, but to hunt for new gear all over again. My player’s gear had become stagnant and wasn’t really forcing me to change anything. I was just using the same stuff all the time. Now I’ll have to go out farm for new level 40 gear.
The pricing structure of the game isn’t uncommon in most aspects of lives anymore. Want to watch that new movie as soon as it comes out, you’re going to pay for it. Wait 6 months, it’ll be on sale for $10 or less. New Christmas tree in Dec can cost hundreds of dollars, come Dec 27 that same tree is 80% off. Cost of a new year model of a car, and that same model at the end of the model year can be thousands of dollars difference. That new cell phone when it first comes out versus that same model a month after the next model is launched. Prices change, and this is no different. I’m just happy that the low cost now will bring new players into the game, allowing more money to be spent on the game. Making the game better going forward, bring about new content for the game, and hopefully a Division 3: “Escape from LA”.

I just don't get all of these posts, and there are many, of people moaning about how much the game was on release and how much the game is now and the fact that EVERYONE has to buy the expansion for a very reasonable £25 (£20 if you have Ubi points to cash in).
Do you think The Division 2 is unique in this? This is what happens with all games!
You had the choice to buy the game on release day at a premium price or to wait a little while and get it at a reduced cost but you bought on release day and payed the premium. So what if someone can now buy the game 95% cheaper than you did, you have had a whole year's worth of opportunity to play a game and enjoy the content releases over the year and that is what you paid for.
I pre-ordered the expansion for the cost of 4 pints down the pub, yup one evenings worth of going out drinking, but I'll probably be putting in another 1k+ hours over the year with the new content (hopefully) so it's well worth my 20 quid.
