    Chat spam in chinese...

    Any update on tackling this?

How are people supposed to find people to play with when there are a thousand chinese spammers in it?

I chatted with support and they literally told me they can't control chat, what region youre in, or what language is being spoken.

    WTF?

Well whats a pain is I have to keep muting the chat because of this and every few minutes it keeps switching the chat region on me. ! minute im in western, next central, next eastern and just cycles like that. And as far as I know, you cant change the chat region your self.

Bull$hit they can’t do anything about it, they need to put a language filter option - block any characters that aren’t part of the English alphabet. It won’t stop all the spam but at least the entire chat won’t fill up with Asian characters,

It’s actually out of control at the moment, there are so many that you actually can’t block all of them and often it will unmute them anyway. I want to keep the chat on but I’m going to have to turn it off when the update happens I would think, could only imagine how many Chinese players are going to be flooding the chat.

I've never seen anyone talk in chat at all. Most I've ever seen is some emote spam when people were playing rock paper scissors, but I barely noticed it.

If it was an actual problem, those same bots or whatever would just start using other languages.

It’s not spam spam, it’s just the sheer amount of players writing in chat in Chinese language that it fills up. And if you haven’t seen any chat, then you have the general chat turned off.

Hi - I am from the US, but live in Asia. We need to understand that a LOT of people speak Chinese in this world, and we cannot impose our own sense of what language is "spam" and what language is not. I've lived and worked in Asia for 12 years, and as an American, I think that we could all use some time working abroad to realize the diversity of this world. I love the American values and people, but there are a lot of good things as well happening out here, and we need to be more global in our thought process. I suspect that you are trying to filter out your own language only (e.g. English), but that may be difficult to code for. I suggest that you just turn off chat, or chat with your Clan or Friends only.

The problem is that the chat is global. There are no region, language, or IP filters. No one cares if Chinese, Korean, and Russian people want to play the game or talk, they just want the option of filtering out languages that they don't understand. Having to right click 50+ names while the screen floods with chat spam, every 15 mins, is not an issue of "tolerance".

This isn't even an issue with people speaking other languages, it's an issue with UBI not providing proper curation options to the players. It's akin to matchmaking not checking ping and placing people with 1500+ ping into the same matches/missions with each other.

i totally agree with youre idea a filter option would be nice

    by the way:
yesterday i saw that the people in the chat turned into racist pigs, they wrote things like:
    "stop with ching chong language"
    "thanks for corona"
    "fck chinese"
    and so on.

Oh my, this is not acceptable. I'll see if I can raise something on this side to try and tackle this.
Thank you for raising this, just to ask, did you report any of these people?
    Thank you
