Year Pass Owners can’t have new DLC?!?

I’m confused as to how I purchased the year 1 pass which meant a year of content starting around the 15 March. All I’ve had is just early access to content that has been available to everyone. But when some content hidden behind a paywall comes out, year 1 pass owners also have to pay for it. If we can’t have the DLC then why did I save up and commit to a more expensive version of the game, which actually prevented me from getting another game at the time that I really wanted, just to find out in a years time that it was all for nothing. Nothing I have got from it has made me think that I made the right decision. Also the premium pass for the new season. I hope that’s available to us at least. I LOVE Ubisoft and I personally think they are the best games company out there and I have bought loads of their games but to see this, it has really damaged Ubisofts image in my eyes and I would have wanted this to be the last company to go down the money-milking road. The purpose of this message is to hope to convince Ubisoft to reward their loyal customers with additional content as we already spent money on the year 1 pass or at least have the decency to refund us due to not providing a pass worth the money. As a super massive fan of Ubisoft I’m rather disappointed.

Because the year one pass begin date started on the day of release & not when it was purchased. If you buy a year one pass now it’s only good till the one year anniversary which is in March & the year one pass expires

It wasn't even a year pass but a season's pass.

The date of release was March 15 in North America. So technically we are still in year one

Yes therefore Thje Division 2 released on 15th March 2019 and a year 1 pass should theoretically last a yearn to 15thn march 2020

@Hammer it's called a YEAR 1 PASS in the stores (ergo a game pass for one year.

Year 2 is starting 12 days before the first year is up.

Games as a service is a lucrative business model that I don't see changing anytime soon. That being said, there are many worse examples of season pass holders losing out on DLC because of the roll over of a season. Truthfully if the pass is meant to end in March, specifically the 15th, you are not missing out on any year 1 content. The year 2 content being release early isn't a random cash grab. Its clear the year 2 content is supposed to be separate from the year 1 pass that many of us purchased. So yea, they are about a month ahead, but in essence what is happening is the early release of year 2 content. So personally I, who also got the year 1 pass, don't feel like I was cheated on content.

Ok, we all know how it works. And yes, it was sold as a year 1 pass, not a "season pass". Yes, you can find where it was described what people would get. But still, I -- as well as many others -- am unable to really grasp what the $30 I paid for the year 1 pass got me that was so great, I don't deserve access to this content.

BTW, I bought the WONY expansion. Two of them actually -- one for me and one for the wife. Don't really have a problem with participating in revenue stream for a game studio that is doing good work. I get that it takes revenue streams to keep a game live and under active development.

Where I feel taken advantage of is with the "year 1 pass" I bought.... without hesitation. Assuming it would be a good deal because I often end up buying Ubisoft base games and then buying the DLC's anyways. For pretty much every other game, new content is only for paying customers that pay above base game cost.

Now, shame on me for not looking at it closer, and realizing that I could live without spending that $30. Because all I would be missing is early access (paid final testers). Oh, and I got some classified missions that are completely not memorable. I finally did one yesterday and it was full of glitches.

So yes, I kind of get what many are feeling. I would much rather have seen this game follow the same business model of so many other Ubisoft games. The DLC for Assassin's Creed Odyssey was huge. Takes days of full time playing to explore and complete. Far Cry 5 was not so great, because I can take or leave the mars or zombie DLC's, but boy do I love the vietnam DLC. It has a ton of replay value.

By making the additional content free, we go very little actual content. Two missions. Wow. Yes, the mission setting, art, etc. are great. But, two missions? Even if you take your time and savor it, it's 90 minutes at best.

This is what the year 1 pass offered to players:

The Year 1 Pass includes the following content:
    • 7 Day Early Access to all Year 1 Episodes – Play the narrative content of the episodes early and further immerse yourself into the world of The Division 2.
    • Instant Unlock of 3 New Year 1 Specializations – Play the three additional Specializations immediately as soon as they are released across Year 1 and earn exclusive cosmetic rewards.
    • Exclusive Access to 8 Classified Assignments – Discover more of the story behind the events leading to your arrival in D.C. and receive a unique and exclusive backpack trophy which you can equip for every Classified Assignment you complete.
    • Exclusive Cosmetics – Don the exclusive outfit of Heather Ward, a highly specialized agent and demolitionist, and stay vigilant with the special Scout emote.
    • Additional Bounties – Take down notorious villains of D.C. by completing an additional bounty each week.*
    • Additional Projects – Take the fight to D.C. factions with full force and get additional rewards through an extra daily project for a challenging mission.*

As of yesterday the devs have now fulfilled their obligations to year 1 pass holders. They are therefore completely free to release as much paid content whenever they wish now. Theoretically they could release paid content every day of the week between now and March 15 as they have given pass holders everything they actually paid for. The year 1 pass is quite specific in what it contains and there is no mention of expansion packs of anything else.

Not sure why anyone would purchase more than one pass if your playing on the same system. Not sure about PS or PC but With Xbox one purchase can apply to every gamer on your Xbox. If PS & PC don’t have that ability that would suck but I used to purchase multiple copy’s of some games for a 3 systems but not anymore.
