I get it, some of you don't like Survival. I love it. I know that there is a solid base of players that want it, so if you are one that doesn't, I respect that … but lets keep the trolling to a minimum here. I took a year long break from The Division 2 - the game felt a little stale with the DC dark zone play and of course, lack of Survival mode. I spend most of my time playing PvP and have consistently asked for clarity on this only to be met with absolute silence. Sure, the new Warlords of New York looks decent … but at the end of the day - running around shooting AI will again become tiring, where PvP Survival is literally different every time you load in. Its a challenge. You have to react quickly. There is little room for error. Planning, Coordination. All of that goes into a single game of Survival. Its the most, high risk/high reward part of the game, and so many people want it, so WHY NOT ADDRESS IT?
I just want the concept to be used for something else. Like how they're using directives for open world. It's not Underground, but it changes up the approach to gameplay and will make each session feel a little bit different. Just the staleness of gameplay and the gameplay loop has been soooo boring. So adding some of the new features sounds good for now.
But I would like to see them go further in this direction, bring back old elements of TD1 but make it TD2's own kind of style.
It's such a shame if it's true that player count is the main reason why not to evolve one of the best game modes I have ever played.
I would still play classic Div 1 Survival A LOT only if important item locations are randomised. It's just gets boring running always to the same medicine truck or pharmacies... and running towards that underground boss if you are spawned close...
I enjoyed survival the few times i have been able to get into a session, I can't wait for ever for other people to hopefully want to play. I actually want them to implement the survival mechanics more directly into the game. Personally with the introductions of seasons coming, a new type of random event that could be added is hurricane and snowstorms of varying strength. Announce at the beginning of the season the 2-3 weekends where one of the storm types will be hitting the maps. Then have it be varying strength of storms from say a 1 where it strong winds and rain effecting visibility and some smaller things all the way up to a 4-5 where everything is done, venturing out gets better gear higher risk, and includes things like establishing back up ISAC power to enable skills similar to survival now. I don't want a new mode of survival that will have the same player base issues, I want an integrated survival aspect into the game.
I think they need to Revamp Survival mode into something new and interesting like R6 Siege Quaratine.
Make Zombie Survival in Division 2 - where you need to gather food and supplies while fighting off hordes of zombies, saving civilians from zombies.
Using the same Concept as Zombie Army ( Zombies with guns )
In my view the unbelievably intriguing nature of survival is not made justice by reducing it to the aspect of player versus player.
I have rarely been as astonished about a game, the last time likely to have been the segment where one gets pulled into an extraterrestrial vessel during a crisis, as the first time that I played survival. I did not know what to do and wandering around in the snowstorm until my passing out in the cold had left me breathtaken. I have since known where I am in comparison to the regular game, I mean outside of the darkzone, only punctually and I happen to enjoy it as it, along with its urgency due to the infection, not knowing in which area one is going to start in, turns exploration to something so immediate and immersive. And there is a storyline to it. It may seem simple and it may be integrated into the general storyline ambiguously, but as it has to do with a vaccine to me there is something momentous to it. Have I mentioned the somewhat abstracted content in the radio or how there would at least seem to be aspects which could be incorporated such as deconstructing clothes that one does not need or a way to melt snow and filter water from it? That the amount of players who engage with it is relatively low to me is explained by its challenging, harsh nature. However what should never be forgotten by the developer and publisher is how this seems to be a concentrated form of many of the captivating aspects of this game and story.
many like survival.
after watched warload of new york, we can have a seperated region , and it's a one big map, so i think it is possible to copy the survival and it is possible to have one big DZ.
however, as i said before, we just need something content like survival, it's not necessary as same as TD1, u know, no one like to copy the same pattern into new series, they may have their idea or thinking of.
