So...
Jokes aside,
This is a interesting opportunity for D2 now that we are back in NYC because that means we are back to the place where Underground is located, where the first Resistance happened, where people learn about Survival, and where D1 Gears and D1 Division Tech are located.
It will be interesting if they brought back all D1 Gear Sets (can only be found in NYC) and D1 skills (as mods to current skills or added as returning skills we unlock once we access NYC Base of Operations)
If thing turn out right for NYC expansion, they may gain back a decent amount of players for D2 and provide more replayable contents
So what do you hope to see in the upcoming Year 2 NYC expansion?
Not to put a downer on it and good luck to them if they do that.
But if they are going to recreate TD1 into TD2 and everything that goes with it for what £20.00 or £30.00 then i'd rather just go and play TD1 a game that iv'e purchased and played already.
I'd rather they did new fresh content that's not the old game.
That's just my opinion and many may feel differently (but i'll be dammed if i'm going to buy TD1 all over again but with a new coat of paint.
I am personally think they are going to update it more towards D2 current timeline if they bring back the Underground, Resistance, and Survival for NYC Expansion with the addition of adding new Maps for those Modes and even expand on those Modes with the addition of new gameplay modes involving those modes while also adding new content and game modes as they expand beyond the Map we knew in D1.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
With D1 they had it stuck in "keep what we got and never touch it again" state for these Modes since they already had a plan to end it at Resistance Update. However, now they have the opportunity to expand these contents beyond what is provided in D1 with some degree of new Modes into those contents.
Year 2 is 100% must pay to access the new content since it is being treated as a Expansion to the game. Like any other Game's expansions, your level cap will be stuck at level 30 until you obtained the NYC expansion (aka year 2 Pass) then you can progress into lvl 40 DC content (Year 1 Pass) areas.Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
The only thing not being paid for is the new Gear 2.0 Engine update and any AI and UI update as those will be naturally implamented into the game.
Note that the expansion is set in Lower Manhattan. The first game didn't go that far south.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post

it's SUMMMMMERRRRRRRRRRRR.
As far as I followed the storyline/timeline.
so...
it shouldn't be NYC with snowflakes..
it's blazing hot.. summer...with Cleaners.
I guess we will see how that all turns out.
And if i got the seasonal/timeline wrong.. forgive me Ubi-Masters.
The real question is..
who's gona be chirping our comms?.. Manny?... Kelso?.. Faye?... ISAC?.. Agent Sanders?..
The teaser currently shows the location coordinates of the Base of operations for NYC on the Division Watch which is Manhattan so we know the BoO will still be the D1 Base but updates to see how time has passed since D1. The best guess will stil be Faye Lau or Ray Benitez or maybe both depending on who is sending us on the mission in NYC expansion. I expect we will see everyone back from D1 in this NYC expansion so they can also provide information about how their life progressed since D1 and what became of the D1 Agent.Originally Posted by zigMAGNA Go to original post
The developers did say going to NYC will provide information about the fate of the D1 Agent unless they plan to reveal the D2 Agent is the D1 Agent.
I think you misunderstand what I am talking about. I am not talking about bring back the entire D1 as the D2 content but to expand on what has become of these places in D2 timeline and maybe bring a few new replayable game modes or some old ones back so they expand on them in D2 contents beyond what was seen in D1.Originally Posted by J_Tokyo_Rogue Go to original post
New York City is going to be a new Map that will be the location for the Expansion (aka year 2) content which opens up a lot of things to add where they could not add into DC nor D1 due to Plot reasons and/or development planned reasons.
This is also considered a Expansion and there is a Level Cap raise to lvl 40. This may bring in more SHD tech to use for potential new Skills in the NYC expansion with some being updated version of the old D1 skills similar to how Seeker Mine and Flamethrower turret was updated for D2 contents such as maybe the return of the Shock Turret (but adjusted to a new version in D2 with some Lore reason why it was modified into what it is) while maybe 1 or 2 compeletely new skills never seen in D1 nor D2 until D2 NYC Expansion.
