First of all, my current total rep is 42. Thanks to my experience with Centurion which is parry or die I properly parry my opponent. I also play with bunch of another heroes, so i can learn my way to counter them. I mix my combos with feints and gbs to be as least predictable as possible. With all those out of the way back to the topic.
This matchmaking system clearly not working as intended. Most of the time i play against 150 or so rep players which is frustration for me.( my current record is vs against 432 rep) Most of those people blocks everything, parries every light and unblockable. I can do nothing but watch myself getting destroyed like a old cent cutscene. Best part is that game says my skill level on par with these people which is clearly not. I get it, losing a fight is part of the game but there is no competition here. I spawn, run, die, repeat until game ends. Am I the only one experiencing this here? Do I miss something? This game is not fun for me anymore and I'm thinking of quitting the game.
This happens to me always... 150,200,250,300... Current maximum was 580 reps, homever I manage to kill them most of the times.
At first it was difficult. I main the peacekeeper, until 8 reps with her I destroyed everyone with equivalent reps. This was because knowing She is weak, I trained with level three bots at least 50 hours before I went to the multiplayer experience.
My kill death ratio was nearly 5. Mostly dodge attacks with perfect timing and soft feints. No need for parry or too complex mixes.
At rep 9 some 70 to 80 total reps were appearing, rep 10 even more...rep 12 There were my first 200 plus reps... At 14 they were 200 hundreds every were... complex mixes and baits were mandatory
14 rep from on, I mostly was the least rep dude on breach or dominion games... That was the first time an over 300 rep dude kill me like 10 times straight and feel so angered that almost smashed my xbox one. I managed to kill him once, but still It was a very humbling experience. That made me to spend another 50 hours of training, getting pro guides and tips from youtubers, so I could kill this experienced players at least half the time. Now at 17 reps with her(I only play her and zerk so Im 27) my kill death ratio is 2.83 almost always surrounded by over 150 rep dudes. Very few times they put another like me.
The tips, training and guides worked but its imposible to return to my success rate against Full noobs. Just impossible.
The unique thing I could recomend you is to train more and being Humble. Never ever be salty.
Surely they put you out There because you are good already.
Hitos, Black priors and jorgs are very complicated, ht and BP were my first cases of extreme saltyness, you and I are using terribly nerfed and abandoned chars.
Rep doesn't inherently equal skill. The game does technically use two paramiters for searching. Someone's skill bracket and someone's total rep. But still.
And matchmaking is a problem. Has been for 3-4 seasons now iirc. Specifically it impacts the two polar opposite ends the hardest. Aka if the game considers you in the low skill bracket or the game puts you in the top skill bracket not only are search times massively impacted but the people you face will also vary up quite a bit. If you exist in the middle of the pack of the game you should be fine. But it's whenever you dip out of there that MM becomes really funky.
The devs are either not aware or don't consider it a priority at the time. As no official word has been mentioned and there hasn't been any patches or hotfixes to attempt to address the problem.
