The thing is that ubisoft gave us so many false promises. We believed them. However, the game has not improved at all. I feel its safe to say that they should not be trusted in the future. A true indicator of trust will be based on post release game reviewsOriginally Posted by FCacGRdvWD Go to original post
I honestly think Ubisoft could care less if we buy their “games.” I think they are looking to the future of streaming games and going to try to sell Uplay+. I’m sure that sounds like music to their ears, have everyone pay them $15 a month to do less than what they do now (which after patiently waiting for the promised improvements to Breakpoint, specifically PvP, for almost 4 months and still no action or updates) which might as well be nothing.
I not only won’t be purchasing their games on pre order or for discounted rates, but there would be a snowball in hell before I pay monthly money for Uplay+.
It might be worth noting that it costs less money to buy a share of Ubisoft stock ($15.99) than it does to buy a copy of Breakpoint.
I am going to throw a party when Ubisoft bites the dust. Hopefully, a competent development studio purchases the rights to the Tom Clancy name so we actually get a fun and playable experience.
The last time I actually had a fun and playable experience with a Ubisoft title was Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
Goes without saying no more Ubisoft games will be bought. They did to many shady things with this one like removing single player squad based gameplay, then released trailers showing the gameplay as squad based when in reality you dont even have a squad in the game and your by yourself. I was on track to avoid this game from deciding not to buy it because single player wasnt squad based with team mates but no, they weaseled me back with the teammates will be added in the game nonsense crap. Falling for it might be my fault but Ubisoft sure as hell burnt the bridge by taking that route just to trick me into buying it.
No-one has to pre-order, it's not as if the games are going to run out.Originally Posted by VentricaI Go to original post
If I trust a franchise, then I'm happy to pre-order. Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs are two that I'll really enjoy regardless of whether the instalment is a classic or just ok, so I have a pre-order in for Watch Dogs Legion and I'll pre-order the next Assassin's Creed game when the time is right.
(On Xbox the money isn't taken until a few days before launch so there's no meaningful financial risk, I can even cancel if the pre-launch publicity is bad).
If it's a new franchise, I'll probably check reviews first.
Buying games always carries risks, even after reviews. The two Ubisoft games I've been most disappointed by were Assassins Creed Rogue and Ghost Recon Future Soldier. All games released since, I've been very happy with. More Open World and RPG elements would be good to increase my interest in Ubi games.
In short, I think it makes sense to judge each individual game (and franchise) on its own merits.

When a company advertises a product and through the advertising makes it look like a high quality product, the duty is to fulfill the promise offered during the advertising campaign. If the product is not in accordance with the offer made during the advertising campaign, that conduct is called lying and fraud.
The consumer has the right to return the product if he/she considers that it is not of the quality offered during the advertising campaign. Since this game cannot be returned, UBI should not only apologize but offer all of us who were cheated a bonus of at least half of what we paid for Ghost Recon to buy the next game they release, regardless of the game's genre.
If UBI really acknowledges their failure to listen to the thousands of suggestions offered during the previous Wildlands game that they may well have used to make this Breakpoint game, they will do what I am suggesting, otherwise UBI will not only have lied and practically stolen but will have ignored the consumers.
What is the UBI response? We know that this game is beyond repair and we know that no matter what you do, the bad taste is already there and there is no way you can sweeten our palate.
The ball is in your field UBI. Say no more and act accordingly.
The watering down of those games is what facilitated them to sell more because they attracted more casual and masses. The problem is that Breakpoint broke the system because all it was left was the water, no flavor, no spicies and even the gummy bears grew a spine but I am sure that after a few hype trailers and big words, they will attract some more people.Originally Posted by Ghost Sniper33 Go to original post
As a single/solo player what is the advantage of pre-ordering vs waiting a few days after launch to see whether the game tanked or was all it was hyped out to be?Originally Posted by SofaJockey Go to original post
I mean, I can understand the PvP looking to be the first to call himself/herself L33t or learn how to exploit the hacks but as a solo?
I agree so then again, why pre-order?Originally Posted by SofaJockey Go to original post

Never understood this idea of loyalty to a game developer, or any other purveyor of entertainment media. I've never been a "loyal Ubisoft fan" and never will be, it's purely a business transaction. They make games I like playing, so I support them with purchases. When I stop enjoying the games they make (which is exactly what Ubisoft is on track to do), I'll stop supporting them with said purchases.
