    Totally agree, the game world is incredibly impressive and detailed, so many locations, but somehow it feels "unused" as you say, more random encounters & less predictable events/quests would be great.

    instead of for example heading to Haruhi Ito, which is an annoyance every time you (fast)travel there. (can't parachute down the slope, they actually force you to slide down all the way to the village which makes this unnecessarily tedious.)
