You just proved my point. Your choice of vocabulary 'killed our hopes', 'waste of time', 'boring', 'eeewwwww', 'hating', 'joke', 'dead right away', 'neglected', 'bad enough', 'hated', 'bummed out', 'final coffin' and 'lame'. These are the type of words that can turn people away. They don't want to deal with your negativity and even if they did everything you want, you'll still be negative no matter what. I even realized this even more when Ubisoft turns off some of their live chat for their live streams. They don't want to deal with this hateful behavior.
From Far Cry Instincts to Far Cry 2, multiplayer is pretty much the main focus from the community. That same community are often disappointed of Far Cry 3 to Far Cry Primal when Ubisoft is more focused on story mode and addressing all of the problems players had with Far Cry 2. Then there's the Far Cry 2 players who are more focused on story mode that were letdown when Far Cry 3 removed game mechanics aimed at realism such as the handheld map and GPS, malaria, weapon jamming, enemies interaction with each other, vehicle repairing, foliage destruction and trees regrowing branches.
So how exactly do you tell someone they did a crap job without being negative? Graw is right that Ubi dropped important features from the multiplayer. Should we all say with a positive attitude GOOD JOB U SCREWED YOUR LONG TIME FANS?Originally Posted by KrayZee_ Go to original post
I love all the additions to the map editor, generic pieces and assets from other games is absolutely brilliant but we can't escape the fact that the omissions have destroyed the multiplayer. FC2 MP was leaps and bounds better than anything since due to those omissions which Graw and others have been trying to point out and illuminate you people for years.
Players like Graw know what makes a good game from years and years of experience playing a huge number of games. He is entitled to his opinion. Why do you care if it's a negative opinion yer jobsworth?
Ubisoft needs respawning vehicles. Also more game modes. TDM/DM isn't gonna cut it. Them got stale first month for me. Also needs a higher budget. Also needs to go back to 8vs8 at a minimum. Also need to be allowed to use more paint jobs on a map for the ground. 3 or 4 were allowed to use at the most isn't enough.
Also need stuff like keys or locking doors and working elevators. Also puddles would be nice. Also more glass pieces. More destructible pieces which also look the same as non breakable pieces. Also paint jobs for static vehicles. Need variety. FAR CRY 5 map editor was gravy. But ruined the game out of the gates with no server browser to host other then the old voting system.
Also UBISOFT should of stuck with the game a bit longer. Felt like they gave up after the game was released other then the co-op 3 map packs. Definitely need respawning vehicles to have larger maps. Possibly a larger overall grid as well if you want helicopter maps for smooth flying without getting tugged to get back inbounds.
Also I still prefer a secondary ground option. After digging a hole to go under. It gets messy lining up rocks or cement generic pieces. Heck even be allowed to use black top road tool. Then a option to cut a hole in the black top road yet with a option to have a man hole cover or not. Also need double sided pieces. Not invisible back side to see through. Like once hole dug into the ground you can see through the map canvas.
Also get real waterfalls back. Not that water splash squirting FX stuff we got for FAR CRY 5. Also better river flowing water. Not the stale water grids. Then bland water coloring options after. Also lining up separate water grids together were kind of a pain. So bring back snapping tools. Snapping tools would save us many hours hand crafting buildings and what not from scratch. Also be perfect first try.
But overall we need a larger grid limit and high budget. Also grid limits and budget should be factored into height of the map as well. I never got to finish that 3 story cabin that had a basement. Was suppose to be like a rustic motel. I was gonna have breachable hatches and repel ropes all over to have the Rainbow Six Siege vibe.
But the grid limit killed it. Also lack of budget means hardly any clutter or junk on the maps either. Reason why so many nice maps look fake cause to clean. Heck my COD4 BOG map I had so many pieces of paper littered all over besides broken drywall powder peppered all over. Besides other random junk.
Also clipping errors need to be more lenient. Also propping down vegetation like grass or whatever needs to go with the flow of the terrain. If it's on a hill. I don't wanna see the grass floating off the side of the hill.
Also should be real gravity with breakable items. Say I got a stack of wood pallets on a pile. Then on multiplayer a grenade goes off on it. I want them to explode all or if not all the non damaged ones fall to the ground and not float mid air. Heck if you build a whole wood cabin of breakable pieces and people use c4. You should be able to level it to the ground.
Have you never heard of the words constructive criticism? There were people that made complaints that are far worse when the game first came out. People who never played Far Cry Instincts or Far Cry 2. People who never played Far Cry’s multiplayer or used the map editor. They said that Far Cry is always about single player and was never meant for multiplayer and called multiplayer tacked on. These people were so vocal that game developers were likely to be disheartened and discouraged to make more content. Have you ever realized why it’s taking forever for Ubisoft to announce a sequel to Splinter Cell Blacklist? Or ever realized why Valve never revealed Half Life 3? The answer is simple: Gamers.Originally Posted by TripleTau Go to original post

To make things worse, this same person never even used the map editor to begin with? Normally I dismiss worthless criticisms but no way am I going to spend my time on people who deliberately trash talk.
Writing out “GOOD JOB U SCREWED YOUR LONG TIME FANS” is straight up passive aggressive and solves nothing but create more problems. Are you proud of yourself for writing that? I sure as hell don’t want to waste my precious time on you if you use that kind of language if I’m a game developer. Is it really that hard for you to be positive? You think you’re trying to make the game any better? No, you’re not. You are just as guilty in tarnishing a game’s reputation.
Well UBISOFT drops the ball every sequel they made after FAR CRY 2. Also got the vibe they ditched us right out of the gates really. FAR CRY 5 felt like NAM,Zombies,Mars were probably darn near complete before the full game launched and held it back for more money. Yet they ditched us for no new game modes.Originally Posted by KrayZee_ Go to original post
There were rumors of a third game mode but never got that. Also moderators here said right away they wouldn't patch in respawning vehicles either. Took them how many months to patch in hosting our own servers. But by then the game was darn near dead.
I know I took screen shots of how few servers were up after game has been out. FAR CRY 2 had a longer shelf life for multiplayer and map editor. With UBISOFT's back stabbing tactics. Most gamers have to study before buying their games now days. We got burned plenty of times. Been burned with FAR CRY 3 and 4 and 5. 6 probably be no different.
FAR CRY 3 Could only host a map in a private lobby. To populate those were a joke. Also only 7vs7.
FAR CRY 4 only had co op map editor.
FAR CRY 5 6vs6 no respawning vehicles, only two boring game modes as in TDM/DM. Also no hosting our own lobbies on launch day either. Time it was patched in most the community left. Only bright side about AR CRY 5 was generic pieces. Yet other things in the editor were meh. Like no snap tool. No legit water fall other then the FX tiny water squirter. Also was very loud.
FAR CRY 2 had 8vs8 and respawning vehicles. Also had host a lobby with a playlist. Also capture the diamond and uprising besides lame DM/TDM. But the first two game modes were a blast for objective based game modes. Only down side to FAR CRY 2 was clunky player movement and brownish blur environments. But FAR CRY 2 set the standard. UBISOFT regressed after that game.
Yet you can't even customize your character, place weapons around the map, or even add ziplines like in Far Cry Instincts Predator. You can't even use DLC content in Far Cry 2 and you can do that in Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 5. Far Cry Instincts players had to buy Far Cry Instincts Evolution on the original Xbox or an Xbox 360 and Far Cry Instincts Predator for new content. Steal the Sample from Far Cry Instincts is a lot better than Capture the Diamond in Far Cry 2. They brought back character customization, we can finally place weapons in the map again, and they introduced new features like customized loadouts. There are Far Cry Instincts players that didn't really like the loadout system in Far Cry 2 and that you have to level up in that specific lobby or have the host give us all the diamonds in order to change our loadouts. Far Cry Instincts already have lobby playlists, object snapping and server browser. You can even host a dedicated server without you playing since your Xbox will be used to host it. Predator game mode and Far Cry Instincts Evolution's Seek and Secure were definitely a lot more fun to play on than Uprising.
You don't need to tell me what Far Cry 5 has and what Far Cry 2 has; I already know all of that. The fact that they brought back multiplayer is a good compromise after all these years. Far Cry 2 also brought problems to multiplayer. The fact that it took Ubisoft 12 years to finally listen, I want to cut them some slack. Yes I know they are held responsible for what is lackluster. However, even if they did have Capture the Flag, respawning vehicles, 16 player multiplayer, lobby playlist, dedicated servers, and everything else you ever wanted, people who are far more familiar with the single player since Far Cry 3 will still say Far Cry 5's multiplayer is tacked on and unnecessary. They will still say multiplayer should not exist and suggest Far Cry is only for single player. So no matter what they're going to do, people will be harsh critics. Ubisoft was actually interested in adding more content to Splinter Cell Blacklist until they learned Blacklist's sales had underperformed their expectations. From day 1 they lost interest and that's not just from sales alone. Splinter Cell fans were pretty much harassing Ubisoft about the change of voice actor and how the game is nothing like the first 3 Splinter Cell games. The original reason for the change of voice actor is due to motion capture. The real reason is that Michael Ironside is battling cancer and his health comes first. While he's still alive now, we are still waiting for the next Splinter Cell. Ubisoft CEO mentioned how much pressure they're getting from their fans which explains why it's taking forever for them to even reveal the new game. Gamers these days are even worse when it comes to critiquing things and they don't want to be held responsible for their actions. Instead they are more than willing to spread misinformation online and they are more than willing to tarnish anything good. They act like complete trolls and they happen to be among the most vocal as they spread their hate with user reviews in metacritic despite the fact they themselves had never even played the game to begin with. Chances are they never spent a single penny on games they are being critics of and then they copy the rhetoric from people who are only looking out for the negative and nothing positive. That's just straight up appalling behavior.
Well us gamer's these days get stuck buying games that are broken or incomplete. Old days with video game cartridges were perfected day 1 of release. Also back then games were $50. These days broken games have like 3 sku's of $60 standard $80 Deluxe $100 for gold standard version. The extra cost of the other two are usually just junk weapon skins or outfits or a few days early access to a beta over the rest or milked out season pass.
