New year, new ways to nerf shinobi.

I swear the dev team just ignores any feedback given to them. Everyone was saying how weak shinobi is, so you decided to take away the ONE tool he had left to mix people up. Like at this point just delete the hero. There's nothing useful left in his kit. Aramusha has better offence now. What a joke this game has become.

Quad dash was never a beneficial tool for the Shinobi anyway after his Superior Armour got removed. It's not like anyone used this move after his nerf other than for style points.

Quad dash was always useful for baiting people who try to dodge the first kick. It was the best he had in terms of offence. And in typical Ubisoft fashion, they nerfed first and did the thinking later.

That is very easy to dodge on reaction, or light the shinobi out. It might be the first sign of a rework plan to make stealth changes here and there (or they removed it accidently, we may never know).

Quad dash was basically giving your opponent a free hit while wasting your own stamina for zero gain. It was not even remotely a mixup tool even when it had super armour, it was just a safe defensive tool used to punish the opponent for attacking you.

Quad with super armour was a terrible design that meant Shinobi was safe from all forms of offence. Quad without super armour was a pointless move that only bamboozles new and inexperienced players. It's not much of a loss for Shinobi because 95% of the time Quad was a dead piece of kit without its cancerous super armour.

Incorrect. Shinobi's kick is reactable. It doesn't matter if you double dodge, quad dodge, or use all of your stamina to dodge enough that your kick puts you OOS. It was never reliable offense. The only benefit quad dash has ever consistently had was letting shinobi react to avoid mix ups that you'd typically need a read to deal with. It let him (in combination with back flip) let him entirely decide when he wanted to fight. The only two heros who could ever semi consistently pressure this was shaman and warden.

I understand the frustration. I too wish for Shinobi to be a fun and usable character. But pretending quad dash was anything other than an imbalanced mess is doing the character a disservice. It might be a net loss for shinobi but it's a net gain for the game's health state. That's just how it is. Rather than defend such a problamatic situation you should be hounding the devs for a proper rework.

Indeed. There are/were unique tools on otherwise horrible characters that allowed them to cheese out from some mistakes, but otherwise did not help him. Shugoki's superarmor, Raider's side dodge guardbreak or Lawbringer's block shove were such infamous tools that were either completely useless (or in shugoki's case outright harmful), or completely shut down anything from the game. Right now the bad heroes having such broken tools are Centurion, Highlander, Jormungandr and Aramusha. In Shinobi's case, the entire character is a mess built up from such tools.

I understand (not really) that some people like how he looks, speaks and moves. I don't believe, however than anyone likes to play him, or ever liked to play him. No offense, running away a whole match, and having absolutely busted tools which made your opponent regret he did not wash the dishes instead of playing that day. There are things that just don't have a chance in the game, even if everything else is weak on it.

To all you elitist saying the Shinobi's kick is easily reactable, I'll say in my 70+ rep of Shinobi experience, people were falling for it very, very often.

So yes, in theory when your opponent is calm, it's easy to react to ; in reality, people fell for it often.

Might be because you could repeat like 30 times per duel without worrying about anything. If you missed, you backflipped out of range, if the opponent tried anything, ranged guardbreak, if not, repeat. Humans are not perfect, even the most reactable things may go through if you can keep spamming them without taking any risks. And of course they are not calm, they were forced to fight a walking glitch. It is very irritating to fight someone who can easily shut down all your offense no matter what you do, since you won't even be in attacking range for most of the match.
