1 thing that has bugged me ever since Wildlands is the default view option. I hate that when you go ADS in a certain mode (1st or 3rd person) it stays in that mode when coming out of ADS then going back in.

I want to select my default view as 3rd person in the settings and then, even if I go ADS and switch to 1st person then come out of ADS, when I next go back to ADS it needs to go back to my default setting of 3rd person NOT the last selected.

If I am a fool and the option for that is there then please tell me how otherwise I do hope Ubi consider adding this option in a future patch.

This is a bug that's been in since launch, if i'm understanding correctly, you set one view and the game randomly switches it to default view, even though it's still set in the menu to the view you chose.

Does it a lot for me, i prefer ADS but the game likes to switch it back to third person aiming at random.

I thought there was an option in the menu to either return to default or return to last used. I can't remember, it's not a feature I use, so I'll have to check.

I think AI BLUEFOX is right. You'll have to check the settings for these options.

For me it was tapping (as opposed to holding it down) alt that was changing it “randomly” (I’m on pc obviously).

At least that’s my recollection. I had a guy last night who had the same issue and I told him to tap alt and it rectified his problem.

That is correct. You can select your default for the aiming mode.

It was in Settings - Gameplay and there you have the Default Aiming Mode.

It is either Ironsight or OTS. Then you can still assign a hotkey to switch during gameplay.

So yeah they're the options I have seen and set default to OTS and the other was to be per weapon not all to be the same but when I ADS at 1st, it correctly goes to OTS but if I were to then click RS while ADS to enter 1st person and then come out of ADS, then just go back to ADS, it will be in 1st person view as that was the last view when leaving ADS. It doesn't seem to go back to my default OTS even when the last view I used was 1st person.

I'll double check again tonight to make sure I'm not missing anything and have them set correctly, but if I have got it correct and it is supposed to go back to default it doesn't appear to be working for me and if it's not an option, then this option would be welcome! Thanks for the comments though peeps!.

I haven't noticed such a behavior, at least not on PC. I assume you are playing on console because of mentioning RS, or with a controller attached to a PC? I used this feature quite often and as I mentioned, with the keyboard I didn't experience it so far. But, if you switch the view in game, it will stay like this, until you switch again manually. Except you log out and back in.

Compltetley agree!!!

Its been driving me nuts that the 'default aiming mode' doesnt do anything.
I also want a default 3rd person but the game keeps remembering my last aiming mode no matter what option I chose in the menu.

I play on PC but this issue is the same both with a mouse and with an xbox controller.
