Hello everyone!
I'm new here and to the game and I have some questions.
Where to start?
I just finished the Hotel mission and currently level 3. I am picking up almost all the loot the enemies drop, but what do I do with the loot?
I am trying to look for enemies and upgrade my character as soon as possible before I progress to far and I cannot keep up. But where to start? What are the best tips and tricks at the beginning of The Division 2.
I hope you can help me with this!
Hey, hope you're enjoying the game so far
I think you want to look to do a few things as quickly as possible, the first being to unlock the perks that give you XP rewards from the Quartermaster in the Base Of Operations, that will help with the levelling process
Secondly don't get too concerned about builds etc early on in the game as you will be progressing at such a rate that gear and weapons will become redundant fairly quickly, just find a weapon type that you enjoy using eg assault rifle/shotgun/marksman etc
Thirdly, don't rush too much, the levelling process is one of the most enjoyable pieces of the game IMO
If you have any other specific questions there will be plenty people happy to help you out on here I'm sure
Hi and welcome to the game!
Just as Stan said, don't rush too much. You've done the Hotel, I assume you already went back to the Theatre and spoke with Odessa, because this will unlock more things for you in the world and also allow you to progress further AND access the safehouses. Mainly, everything at this moment is for tutorial purpose. After the Theatre, I think you'll be called back to the base to speak to the Quartermaster. Go and speak with anybody you're asked to speak then start looking for Shade Tech Caches (small orange phoenix icons). Use these to unlock Perks at the Quartermaster. Pick up the XP perks first, then go for other utilitarian ones.
Do side missions, as they're unique to the location they're based on and some of them will reward you with various gun attachments and SHD points for the perks.
After you've got tired of doing side missions, go and complete the main missions, starting with the Jefferson Trade Center.
Collect up the gear you find & sell it at the vendors. keep the stronger higher GS weapons & sell the one they replaced.
Keep seeking as much as possible to build up your bank amount for recalibrations and crafting, when you hit Tier 5 stop collecting & selling & only pick up the gear/loot that you can use to upgrade what you have. If you continue to pick up and sell your gear gets progressively worse & worse.
Don’t use the recalibration station or craft anything until tier 5 to save your bank cause that gear will guickly be replaced.
The best gear seems to between 470-490.
Don’t be in a hurry to get to gs500 or what ever it’s being raise to by taking gear others at higher Gs drop for you. There’s not a lot of content as is so take your time.
My tip would be to don't rush the game, try and solo as much as possible and DO NOT let anyone boost you.

Thanks for all the tips!
I played with some friends, but they where already to high of a level. So I couldn't compete with the enemies they where facing.
My plan is to play it slowly. Doing allot of side missions, collecting loot and concurring watch post from the Hyenas. Doing the main story line for expansion of the map. Now playing mostly solo or calling for backup and play with complete strangers. Sometimes you are getting the most complete idiots and sometimes pro's.
Currently I'm level 21/22.![]()
Oh Rooksbby.
I had this when I first got my hands on The Division 2 when playing with collegues :') they had already levelled up without me and wanted to help me through my first couple of missions. The enemies were crazy difficult to fight so I fought alone till I was the same level as them!
I've played with some great strangers though who have helped me throughout the game which is nice!
Doing the side missions and collecting loot sounds like the best way to do it ! Plus some of the side missions are connected to little extras.
Good luck with levelling up![]()
