Well as I started to help you it appears Kristorf has jumped in with a generic one that doesn't seem to bear much relationship to the pic, markings, scheme etc, so I will bow out and get back on with my decorating

Oh and incidentally you are missing the white bands on the wings, they are visible in the picture........

Hmmmm, TT's does look closer to the photo plus it has a more sun bleached look about it.

I,m a great admirer of both your work like many others, very priviliged you want to make a skin for me, but I hope you don,t get lost in the dark sides of man.

Taylortony, thanks for you effort to come nearer to the sun bleaked P-47. Although the colour is more bleaked, like Beebop already mentioned, the white cowling ring is somewhat broader and the white may be somewhat more white

Kristorf, I hope you still spared those skins because I like them very much and probably many other P-47 lovers.

Banding is only put on as a reference, as were the codes based on your nickname..... they are the simplest things to correct and as such in a work in progress no matter whos, they should be treated as such.

I was more interested in getting the scheme as per the pic, correct roundels, mismatched cowl paint and weathering, indeed I was spending a lot of time doing the weathering underneath the get it all to blend seamlessly, something I used to take pride in when I was a skinner...

Still I have had a private request from someone to finish it for them, so when i get time I will....

I do hope you get someone to do it for you, oh and this is where it had finally got to, I added the wing bands as they did have them and you can just make it out on the wing on the picture...... odd though it isn't on the U/C leg doors as it should be.......

Interestingly I originally started to do this for you, as you had had no offers, and to see if I still had the skill to do it

Tony, looking at the original pic, and other early '47s it may be that there are no bands on the wings, just on the tail, and what is shown on the leading edge is wearing?
