Agree. Once you have an optimized build the game on Heroic becomes trivial.
I personally would love to see a NEW even more punishing PvE difficulty, but this time something truly crazy and completely out of control. I like the name "ludicrous" for this mode, just like in Tesla. Heroic difficulty on some very serious steroids

Example: 20 Warhounds followed by the 10 heavies, followed by 2 quadcopters- and that's just a first area of the mission

But I know it's never going to happen, just in my dreams.

I play mostly heroic and only play challenging when I have to. I often see most who claim it's too easy, eventually state they play challenging all the time. So the question is how many play heroic, find it too easy?

that is the feature or something change in TD, so u have to comfort the change, even i like to play more heroic, however, i welcome th change, it's a causal game.

classified assignment is a special mission, and only available to yr pass holder. so u can say it's mainly for solo more than a group, that why it didn't need to have heroic, even challege, no many people is interest to matchmaking. enjoy it yourself on challege

For current gear system and builds, game is too easy. We have had a lot of time to learn missions, and make strong builds. Current build options provide too many strengths in multiple areas, with few or no sacrifices needed.

I remember in early summer doing Heroic missions with matchmaking, most of them were bigger or smaller challenge. For past bunch of months only kinda challenge in Heroics is the last turret in final battle. We have too good gear/skill combos available.

Could use some of the original tactics the enemy employed like the flanking that used to be a thing...

the difficulty must remain as it is, but it must increase in heroic if the rewards are interesting otherwise no interest, AND solo players or not very good must understand that heroic is for players in experienced group because several players say that it is too hard, just play hard and let the best players play heroic, but now for players to experience heroic is too easy so you have to increase it

Or add another more difficult like legendary something like that will be great

Q: Are you happy with the mission difficulty settings?

I think the challenge the NPCs pose is fine.

However, if mission difficulty is improved outside of NPC tuning, such as additional and difficult mission objectives for higher difficulties, like in N64 007 Golden Eye, it'll add character and a different kind of challenge specific for each mission; not just shoot the tougher NPCs,

    An example,
Normal difficulty would be the missions how they are now.
Hard difficulty would have 2 new objectives not in Normal mode i.e. destroy the security cameras and alarms to reduce enemy reinforcements.
Challenge difficulty would have 3 new objectives (same objectives as in hard mode), and 1 larger objective 'off the linear path' where you deal with a named enemy with a minor mechanic.Example, kill enemy and scan the corpse or fight with named enemy takes place in a room with disorient gas or pass through a room with drones that swarm you to hack a computer, etc.
Heroic difficulty could be challenge difficulty but with again slightly tougher enemies, 4 additional objectives (3 from challenge + 1 more) and an environmental mechanic i.e. lights out, flooded, gas leak, cleaners invaded, etc.

It might have lore or story issues, but with being smart about what missions get what kind of objects or environmental mechanic, this can be avoided.
Overall, my point is that tuning NPCs for difficulty can only go so far and doesn't add much to characterise the already very similar feeling missions.
NPCs should be tougher to fight as the difficulty increases, but so should the mission itself.

Heroic pretty much is a complete breeze with decent gear and competent players. Hard difficulty should go away entirely. I am glad all factions are getting Heroic difficulty, that is much needed. In my opinion, the two biggest changes that would impact difficulty in a positive ways would be to:

1.) Randomize spawn locations, quantities, and enemy types. In it's current state, you know exactly where enemies will spawn, when, and sometimes - type. Ever witness all the players standing in front of doors spamming seekers, clusters etc.? This completely trivializes content.
2.) Randomize the path of the map. This requires a little more work as this means changing paths players take slightly to both add interest, but also give you a different experience. As it stands now, this is a major problem with targetted loot as you will be running the same mission all day. This would take the current content, and expand the player experience tremendously.

In addition to this, I would love to see players able to Matchmake with AI agents and create their teams. The game is already running low on players and getting groups is pretty difficult for all of the content. Solo players will have an easier time experiencing content and running Heroics. As it stands now, the only real difficult thing for solo a Heroic is you being the only target so Airburst spam, Warhounds, Drone Spam, etc. is really RNG and annoying (not difficult, just annoying). Lastly, this will mean players can appropriately scale the difficulty and loot for non-Heroic difficulties as they can control the group size with AI agent bots. Players should be able to choose what AI agents they bring along with there being an agent with every Specialization to bring group buffs and synergy.

As someone who just yesterday unlocked WT5, I'd like to remember all the veterans that I can still get easily killed in a fraction of a second on normal difficulty.

Adding a difficulty above heroic might be the way to go, but a ladder for newer players to climb cannot be taken away.

The suggestion of jellowombat to randomize spawn locations would probably make the game feel more challenging, I remember how it was in TD1 the repetitiveness of the enemies was the thing that made some encounters way easier than others.
When the enemies all come from the same point they're easily countered, when they have multiple spawn locations that change based on where the players are staying makes for more challenging encounters.
