Reason why For Honor seems to be "dying".

Lots of people seem to think this game is dying due to lack of content or whatever.

Now, I've recently heard that For Honor is actually, in fact, the most played fighting game on the market right now.

Why would the best fighting game out there suddenly have a barebone dev team? Why might production be slowing down so much on such a successful game?

    Lol. Think about it.

Next gen consoles are coming THIS YEAR. For Honor year 4 has been confirmed. That means For Honor will stay supported until after Christmas, and new consoles will be in peoples homes.

FOR HONOR 2 IS COMING FOLKS, AND THAT'S WHERE ALL THE REAL WORK IS BEING DONE.

    Be patient, grasshoppers.

Another hint to that is year 4 will give us two more wu lin heroes, and the faction war will update to include the wu lin by the end of year 4. This will leave all factions at 7 heroes, all missing a second vanguard.

I believe For Honor 2 will launch with 4 new vanguards, one of each, to get each faction up to 8, with 2 of each class.

Perhaps we will see 4 vanguards and 2 new factions with 4 starters each, to launch with 12 new heroes, like for honor launched with.

For Honor for next gen is definitely coming. Hopefully they can rebuild the engine from scratch with all the experience and lessons they've learned from the three years of being a live game.

ehh..I would probably skip For honor 2 if it has the same matchmaking. The game isn't fun atm the way it is, I don't think it will improve this year but I hope I'm wrong.

For Honor might be one of the most popular "fighting games", but being the most popular fighting game probably isn't even the equivalent of the 20th most popular FPS game. That being said, I'd reckon we'd see "For Honor Remastered" with 60fps for console and PC crossplay before we ever saw them pump the resources into a whole new title build.

The game isn't in that bad of a state as some of you make it out to be. Balancing and matchmaking issues are always going to be in play with this sort of game. A whole new title such as For Honor 2 isn't going to magically solve your supposed issues with the game state. The only thing a new title would do, would be to give the IP a fresh chance at a launch which would create new reviews and exposure on Youtube and the like. I think a "remastered" re-launch that centers around 60fps for consoles and PC crossplay would basically accomplish the exact same thing from a marketing standpoint.

I would agree if I hadn't been hearing rumours of how laughably better the next gen consoles are.

The way the new consoles are being talked about, I feel like the creators of for honor and other games are already experimenting with next gen tech and just working from that standpoint. Many of for honor's issues may already be solved, just lying in wait, hidden within the code of the next title.

Forza for example releases a new title yearly. Nothing came in 2019. They are waiting for this year to release a new game with next gen, obviously.

My belief is that For Honor 2 is already being developed, because a remaster would not take full advantage of the next gen capabilities.

Either that, or perhaps for honor is simply ahead of its time, and now the hardware will finally be able to play it properly. Lol

For Honor was made on a shoestring budget when it came out, the engine it runs on is shared with Assassins Creed, this saved them development time massively as they already had a third person melee combat engine available, even some of the animations where borrowed from Assassins Creed, when a hero gets on a ladder and moves/slides on it, they are directly pulled animations from the AC series.

The liklihood of For Honor 2 or For Honor : Next Gen is unlikely, the IP is going to die with the first game, this game in general lacks a mass market appeal, they are just stringing the few of us left out on it and making a little money via Steel packs and this new "season pass" crap.

    .
The difference between FH and every other fighting game is every other fighting game is 1v1.

So if you divide the FH playerbase by 4 you get an approximate idea of how not ****ty the game actually is (spoilers its pretty ****ty)
Its also the only game without leaverpenalty in the most played game modes and the only game that thinks filling playerslots with bots is somehow an acceptable way to start the game. Even 1v1 fighting games have leaverpenalties.

Youd think that having a large number of other online multiplayer games to compare to would somehow allow people to follow a very basic minimum standard for what online mutliplayer should be like.
Meanwhile FH designers: LULUL XDDDD Pog MEMES LUL XDDDD
