Things I'd like to change or see happen in this game
Just a list of things i randomly notice are not given while playing this game, a game which can be a lot of fun.
I don't speak for all, just for myself obviously and fellow journeymen i've come across since launch or generally play with.
Really been liking this game apart from the bugs and remember how poorly wildlands started out only to later be recognized as a gem. Which people now highlight more than ever. We got a World 2.0 not wildlands 2.0.
Where to begin?
Your menus: While for dedicated players it will be easy to figure it out, i fear that new players i've met are nothing but confused by it.
Example for this is your preset system. Get rid of people not being able to unfavorite weapons. Allow us to mark as junk a la The Division and dismantle/sell all at once. And favorite or setup our preferences on the fly, no matter where we are. Since you force us to "carry" all gear with us once its in a preset anyways. You want us to play the game right, not hover in menus, even tho customizing can be a "game" of its own, the tediousness must be removed.
The mission board is a disaster really. Take one look at wildlands, and the structure you built up there to complete every mission in the game. You even had them be crossed out, and make you feel the progress as you progressed. Here? No such thing, they dont even get marked as dead or anything. It looks the same as before for the most part. It may not really matter to regulars, but for new guys im sure it will be easier to navigate at a glance if you know you've dealt with something. On that note, please fix all the notifications we've browsed over and still want us to be notified.
When you are mid mission, sometimes theres a huge "check your intel now" icon showing up which won't go away until you do it. Now .. if you play alone that would pause the game and not matter. But if you're in a squad.. forget it, it will stay there and annoy you till one of you does it, and if thats midfight its bothersome.
Weapon Paint - it looks as if weapons degrade only seconds after you refresh the paint.. why? (might be fixed now, but it wasn't the case in menus, they looked really war torn after just going out and back into the pain menu)
When you wanna restock on items, why is there no "refill/buy all" option? Why do we have to do everything individually? See above with the mark as junk. Far Cry had this all along.
Allow people to spawn their vehicles when leaving a bivouac, in example 4 bikes. Coz why not? People love to ride when you actually do it. Not everyone ofc but i don't care about that, everyone rolls at their pace and explores the world differently.
As for world interactivity... A lot of thoughts.
This terminator event is great fun, wish it would just stay in the game with random terminators spawning in the world for the ages. Limiting it to one week only can't be all, after all the bugs and glitches and downtimes we endured and others are still enduring.
That being said, I miss faction wars like they were Wildlands. Its needed (outcasts going on a revolution or not?) Or how about civilians driving? Why is the only person who can enter a vehicle the skell cash guy. So how about enemies actually entering vehicles to chase you on whatevers near. How about soldiers actually being able to climb up ladders or are roofs meant to be the safe haven? Even the terminator can't climb up a ladder
Let enemy helicopters use their rocket launchers like Eva Herzog. They really only pose a threat if you're already in battle and can't focus on them. Or you ride a bike and they chase you forever, although threat might be sweating it.
Have some sort of armored choppers that don't make every flying patrol seem like paper mache
I mean you have bullet proof and complete indestructible lights and glass windows everywhere, even in near rundown barn sheds.. but choppers can't have bulletproof glass? It should be the opposite. Is really every glas bullet proof in World 2.0 or are those bugs? i wouldn't know, no one ever said anything about it.Can't help but feel like its a bug.
Why do bases not have drone jammers anymore? Have patrols in bases that jam your radar. like in fallen ghosts DLC.
Why do Soldiers never sleep. Are they sporting amphetamines? Damn i miss the nature of wildlands and how things played out there. A wanted system that could actually stress you. You've done everything right with the fallen ghosts DLC for wildlands, why not make it like that here?
When a base is alerted, and a body was found, it should never go back to easy going mode (see how Metal Gear Solid 5 solves this - they even have a truck delivering stuff from base to base and will alert nearby bases and they won't return to a chilled status until the very next day.) I like the improvements made on enemy AI but we can take it further. When im on a roof im almost god, throwing down bolts of lighting and this shouldn't be so easy. Enemies should be able to access ladders.
Have the characters interact with each other, when you get attacked in wildlands, the characters would give headsup to your teammates (we're cool we're cool, ****balls anyone? frag out). We could trigger voice lines. The emotes we got here are a complete joke, i don't think anyone has ever used em. If you gonna add that, at least make it useful in some way?
Did i mention faction wars? I feel that its a great thing to have many enemies all over the map, but why not have a sniper camping somewhere in bushwookie style which even if marked would disappear?
Somehow i liked it more how marked enemies were orange in wildlands, and unidad purple. having every icon show up as white is just inconvenient.
Example: I went ahead and scoped out half a base, while another person was silently killing whatever he saw on his heatmap and then proceeded to run in parts of the base that had white enemy icons all over it and he said "oh there are still people here". Add color or let us tweak that too coz as it is its not vibrant enough.
Feels like the item-wheel could use more slots, i don't wanna go into my "backpack" aka the inventory everytime i run out of something, its unnecessary imo. As a result, many players just don't give a crap and play without items from what i've seen. Also: encounter a bug frequently where i hold the item wheel and suddenly it feels like my mouse suddenly goes up to 20k CPI and what i wanna select won't be selected
now imagine that in a scenario where u wanna quicly select the syringe to survive, ye not so asuming
How about some climber, rapelling gear to act like special operatives which we should be? A person has made a video about it here in the forum i thought its a nobrainer to add that in.
Add gps: I mean, it's World 2.0 you know? Not that anyone needs it but it basically makes vehicles even more useless coz people will just resort to flying.
Why can't we have 2 seater bikes? Why can't we honk in cars? Why can't we shoot from a bike/car? Would it really be too powerful? Have certain enemies vehicles with bullet proof tires perhaps. Just a thought.
Make picking up enemies actually quick so its of use, more often than not it takes so long that whover you're trying to remove is in someones view and its just better to shoot em all out. The tooltip that mentions to carry a buddy to safety really gives a good laugh, it is faster to just heal em than pick anyone up. Its great its there, but its useless how it is implemented. I can count the amount of times where i picked up a buddy and in last second manner carried them to safety to rez the on one hand. It should be a bit quicker, same with picking up enemies.
Im gonna be an optimist about bugs and think it will be ironed out slowly over time. Even though i'd wish for hotfixes in shorter intervals which would give people some hope instead of being forced to wait for 2 months for a patch. I do like this recent update. Night vision has become useful again. Gameplay is fun once you are with likeminded people but the bugs sometimes are more than one can take honestly. I feel like we are lab rats (beta testing).
Changing blueprints to seperate categories was a step in the right direction, some ppl outright thought you removed em coz they can't see the new icon between sell and buy menu... People have a hard time finding stuff in your game ;D Keep it simple.
Why can't we view in a shop, in the sales menu, which items actually have which perks when we buy or sell? It forces us to go through the extra step to check it in our inventory before we go into the shop, i don't see the point.
Look at MGS5/Gta5 when it comes to enemies taking damage, they fall, and some get back up, or shoot you while laying on the ground. Nothing of the sort ever happens here, why not? The only people who survive are the guys u can interrogate. Then suddenly, when you interrogate one of 5 injured soldiers, they all magically die. Its a comedy.
I remember narcos sporting mac-10's, and we could use these automatic sidearms as well, in breakpoint it's all down to sidearms being pistols and they almost, all feel the same. On that note, narcos could even dual wield. Give us the tec9, crossbow, and the other gadgets such as the flaregun. We see it rarely being shot in the world, why don't we get one? I know we are the prey, but that shouldn't matter. All this was available already in the predecessor.
Please fix communication issues. It happens that i can see my voice being detected, and i can hear my whole squad, while no one can hear me. Or vice versa. Fix chat bugs, let us communicate ;D Should be hotfixed and top priority cuz it causes nothing but frustration not being able to do so. Yes i dont wanna discord up with every random squad i team up. So thats not a good workaround for me. As for chatbugs... in the past, opening up the chat window caused stutter, for others and yourself, even if they sent you a message and for them too. This is now fixed, for the most part i think and you introduced a bug that when you type, mid-sentence it will just react to menu keys or close the window and have you re-open it. Now imagine how annoying that is while trying to play your game when someone asks you a question, or you just wanna respond properly.
I didn't use it much, but i know plenty who did, bring back the explosive drone. Probably in your plans down the road as a class, who knows. People loved it.
Regardless of all this, i've stuck with the game, as have the rest of us and many who don't post and just hope you deliver the right things. It is a lot of fun but could be so much better.
Why do civs i've saved fear me, while some can be in shock or panic, why do they insult their saviors? You're turning us into terminators trust me
lol
Pretty sure there is a lot more but those are just some thoughts i thought i'd deliver to your dev team and i've seen many, really many good suggestions here in the forum which i'd hope you add in. The thing is, you already had a great game in wildlands, good menu/item navigation like in division. Why not revampe it to that? I dunno what we can realistically expect to change from all i wrote. But those things are pretty standard and a must for a better experience i'd say.
Matchmaking should absolutely seperate difficulties, make it an extra option. Simply because playing the terminator event with someone who plays on arcade really takes the joy out of it for a lot of players. It's fine and a nice feat that the AI differentiates between peoples difficulties. But make this something u know about when you play, you see what difficulty your teammates are on to give you an idea who you're rolling with, or to prevent abuseful/shameful behaviour, lock the difficulty to an average once you enter mp. 3 guys on extreme and one on arcade at terminator event.. hooray
anyone can be a hero that way but its just boring you know?? i can't be the only one thinking this. Pretty sure there's a better solution somewhere down the road, maybe with your heroic mode?
Also please let there be a simpler way to just join someones mission if they don't reselect it.Like have a quick menu for it on your objectives board or lobby - player X is playing bla - JOIN. There.. done. Should be easy to implement?
Let us select if we wanna search for party, or open up our own session for MM.
Honorable mention
Holster my guns (i know this is something everyone says, and so do i!)
I really like the gunplay here, the new and improved stealth mechanics compared to wildlands and am not opposed to the general idea of classes but somewhere down the line you guys really forgot the simple things that made wildlands so great. We wanted to blow **** up at times too, we can't do so here. Everything is practically invulernable, in wildlands we could toss a nade through windows, here u can't even break a window while walker (albeit a cutscene) when he shoots at you through bulletproof glass is basically the only one who "can" but we never see it yet we escape with Skell.
Thats all for now, Peace
