So, I just watched the new devstream, and is nothing being talked about in the Faction War? It was feeling like we'd be getting some kind of big change or overhaul with it but still no word on it. I'd appreciate some input from Ubi devs on what the plans are with the Faction War if any. It's not fun for Vikings to stomp every season, and this is coming from a Viking since the Beta. If there's any info on this I'd appreciate hearing something on it.
the only reason vikings win each season is because people pick them for their objectively better shield for emblems. I don't think they have ever said they would do anything to faction war so im not sure why your hopes were up for this specif and insignificant feature of the gameOriginally Posted by VelociReagan Go to original post

If the Vikings really had so much of a larger active playerbase compared to other factions, they'd be winning each and every "event order" in addition to the faction war, which they for sure do not win the majority of event orders. In fact, I would guess they are in last place for overall event order wins since my stay here in FH. Even keeping that in mind, the event orders in my opinion are more of a barometer of active player faction distribution than the faction war is, and those #'s typically are also fairly close being within a few thousand of each of the three factions.
Vikings have an overwhelming amount of numbers. The bandwagon has skyrocketed Viking numbers and you can see the number advantage Vikings have in event orders and the like, as you can infer population, asset percentage and so on. Someone did the math on it, and Vikings consistently have overwhelming number of players, nearing 45% of the player base, so each season they have an intrinsic advantage that just makes the entire thing unfair for the other factions. It's lost all meaning, and claiming that we win because we have superior tactics/more attentive players is just a lie and an excuse to big **** over others who just wanted to feel immersed and not **** on because they didn't pick the bandwagon. A lot of people did get the game for the Faction War, it's a powerful immersion tool and this has seriously crippled it in the worst of ways. If Ubi wants a community to develop and grow out of the toxicity that is places like The Mead Hall, then they need to rebalance and change it.
Sorry, but your "I'm in the Viking faction and I just want to lose the faction war!" and "Viking discord/reddit (the mead hall) is toxic" story isn't passing my smell test.Originally Posted by VelociReagan Go to original post
I seriously gotta ask you what you are smoking when you describe the Mead Hall as toxicity? Like, I've never ever read anything toxic on the discord or subreddit.... ever. Everyone is super chill. I wouldn't even bother with the faction war or checking if they didn't make it so easy, chill, and frankly, "not toxic."
I can't speak for what's happened since launch, but since my stay at For Honor, in no way shape or form have the Vikings won a majority of the event orders. No way. You don't even need a good memory for this one, Vikings lost the last two events for example, and many many many others, at least since I've been around.
And real talk, the Vikings have won each season for year 3, but on a campaign by campaign basis things have been very close on the final day of troop placement. Literally two campaigns for season 4 came down to a few hundred troops on ONE territory swinging back and forth by mere hundreds every 5 minutes in either direction. It literally came down to having people on and playing, their matches ending in time, and their banner being on the right spot. Not even exaggerating, that's how season 4 went down.
So yeah... your ranting isn't making any actual sense. None at all other than "I'm sick of the Vikings winning," to which I say, are you really in the Viking faction bro?
